She does seem stressed out. It sucks that she's the US side, if she was in the UK I'd certainly be getting her drunk right now! My God, though, eye surgery?? I hear that is sooo intense, I'll be thinking of you throughout. Great distraction, though! And the results are supposed to be amazing (speaking as a lifelong short-sighted girl, I am mucho jealous).

im just scared because its EYES,the most sensitive part of the body.my mom is paying for it since she feels responsible for not allowing me to wear my glasses when i first got em ( she is a lifelong weaksighted girl, she cant see neither short nor far without glasses ) ,she feels responsible so its nice.

but hot digity, four days without checking uscis?ill go insane.

by the way,i replaced cheetos with kellogg's specially K fruits of the forest bars, yummy and healthy :(

Keeping faith and venting sometimes are the only ways you'll stay sane. You're very welcome here at the forums, nandi8! I hope the process goes smoothly for you. Just in case you haven't found out yet, the way to check your status online is to find your receipt number, which is on your NOA1. It should consist of 3 letters and 10 digits (I think it's 10...) Go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard.do and fill in your receipt number. There you will find what stage your application is in (Initial Review, RFE etc).

Now, look to the left and you should see a list of options, one of which is Sign-up for Case Updates. Here you can sign up as an applicant customer. Once you've done this, you can sign in and see if you've had a "touch". You can sign up for email and/or text updates, too. It's a slippery slope, though! Before you know it, you'll find yourself checking your status every couple of hours!

I hope this was helpful. There is a wealth of information in the forums that can be browsed through by using the search option, and if you can't find an answer, there are many friendly people who have nothing better to do than help you with your questions, and moan with you when you're SICK of waiting! All the best!

hi hi thanks so much for the info.. i knew about the status update on uscis website though and i have been checking it everyday about a million times a day since we hit the 3 month mark.. we are almost to 5 and its too much to bare!! its unbelievable that one can feel this frustrated though.. hehe.. there are times where i am arguing with everyone in the house.. my parents and my bro and sis in law!! just everyone!! and as for my fiance and i.... well that is a whole different story!! :( but we are trying our best to stay sane and think and talk about things we will do together once he is here instead of the wait.. i will definitely sign up for the updates emails and texts so that i can see if the file has been "touched". thanks for the welcome as well.. and definitely will be venting!! apologizing in advance!! hehe

 Am I THAT bad?

I've been doing a great deal better, especially after the recent CSC updates. I've been trying to focus on the positives and it's been helping. I'm buying my UK airfare in two weeks after saving for months so that's a relief. I always feel better with airfare squared away. It makes the visit official.

VeraVimes, we must drink together some day. Thank you both for your concern, but I promise I'm not some crazy lady...even if I come across as such on here.

im just worried,i mean im worried for everyone ( type A personality, hello,i live on stress ) but you seem really stressed,i would say more than me.

its ok if you cant focus, youre just like what, two months away from finishing your five months?

it will eventually be our turn :bonk: the fact that we cant do anything at the moment is the only thing that bothers me.

Oh, you're really not that bad. I'm projecting my own stress on you so I can feel like I'm the calm one...

It is amazing how much those few approvals have lifted my spirits, though. And having the flight booked is great, because it's a different countdown you can focus on that's not as frustrating. 3 months is a long time, though! We'll have to support you through it. My baby is coming to London for a weekend, then I'm going to Chicago (small world) for New Year's.

When all's said and done, the four of us will have to have a drink in the windy city before you pack your bags and head for sunny California... Are you sure you still want to go after this experience...?

And where is ygr going to live? I feel like we make up a crazy trinity. Drunkenness must ensue.

I know, that's what freaks me out about the idea, too. But you know it's going to be worth it once you heal up. The Kellogg's are probably better for the healing process than the Cheetos, but... be sure to pamper yourself a little bit. And just think, with a bit of luck, there'll be a long list of approvals for you to gloat over once you regain your eyesight! What day are you going into surgery?
