Nothing here. I wouldn't be so annoyed if the CSC would at least start working on the June filers because I would know that July filers are next. The other thing that is annoying is seeing that the VSC started "touching" the July filers over the weekend while we are still sitting here waiting. I don't mind making it to the 5 month mark but I do not want to go past that. This is truly a test of patience. :innocent:

Don't worry, despite the touching, I don't think it's anything to get too excited about. ALL of the July/August/Sept filers at VSC got a touch on 10/03. A Sunday? I doubt they're doing work, it's more likely that something happened causing them to need to move all of our petitions from storage room A to storage room B.

Though I'm sorry you guys haven't had any progress. :( The waiting really sucks.

The only thing keeping me sane about all of this is that I can focus on home remodeling projects, planning the wedding, and that my fiance and I webcam, phone, and text everyday.

If they don't start moving soon I think I'm going to go nuts! :bonk:

I'm really trying to hold out hope that this will be the week that June filers start getting approvals but my optimism is fading fast.

This process is possibly the most stressful and frustrating thing I have ever been through. Truly a test of true love. I am part of the collective mass of touches but i really dont think this has bearing on the speed of the NOA2 as nearly all got touches, even very very recent filers. Im guessing they have batched July/Aug and Sept together and moved us to another room/ box. That or the system has been programmed to run a automatic update on a particular day ( would explain the wierdness of a sunday) and i think it was a mass update of outstanding petitions. As much as I would love to think it could be them moving, i am feeling a little scepticle about it as i am really not sure it means anything on such a big scale

Guess we just all have to hang in there. You are right, this is truly a test but well worth it in the end. I found my soulmate and we already have back up plans in place for all kinds of scenarios.

That is the most likely. I got a text and an email yesterday updating my status, and we were approved back in June at VSC, approved by the embassy last week, and received the visa today. So we got our approval notification 3 months after we were approved. I think people put too much stock in touches. There is no proof anything has been touched. It's just been updated. What likely happened is that the system went through an update, that's all.

Sorry to hear that

Well maybe the time apart and the process allows one to reanalyze the relationship and see the other side of the person that can't be seen when things are good. This can be a test as to how the couple fairs through stressful times (albeit this is one long period). If it's meant to be, you two will see it through. If not, then it's better to face the truth before going through the rest of the process, money, etc. Either way, wishing the best.

its just the stress, the stress we go through as individuals in every day life is just nearly unbearable ( our schedules are hectic, his due to his job, mine to my education ) now add to that the stress of this process, the stress of a long term long distance relationship, and the pressure and the stress of the distance, and people constantly asking about how things are going and if our case has gone through yet,its just a recipe for disaster.im just really torn part,to sum it up,i need a break from being me,dealing with the things i deal with.

thanks tho, good luck to you too,i really do hope this is your month

We have only been on hold at CSC for about a month. It is frustrating knowing that the petition is just sitting there in a box or file cabinet or maybe even on someone's desk. It is in a stack of other petitions also just waiting. Will our petition be one of the lucky ones that is dumped on the floor when the whole stack is picked up and moved? Is it soaking up someones spilled coffee or just the grease from the bottom of the pizza box? I see a couple of petitions that were approved in about a month. What happened there? Some special need or just a happy piece of luck for them (hope it is the latter). Is it true that the actual process takes about 15 minutes? That is what another thread says. And what about businesses that can pay to get to the head of the line? Of course, we do not have the money for that, but it would be nice have the opportunity. What other information am I missing that could make this even more frustrating? Where is the actual hold up?

Is there a special thread just for venting? One that no one reads

Those few late May/early June petitions that got approved with lightening speed were due to the TX lockbox shift. It was a lucky break for them and we're all secretly a little jealous.

Businesses can't "pay to get to the head of the line." Businesses are applying for different visas than we are. H1B visas (for foreign employees) have a much faster processing time than K-1 visas. That's just how it works, they're not paying extra money to cut the line. Even if you did have the money there isn't an option to pay for expedition. You can expedite your petition if the USC is about to be deployed to a combat zone but that's about the only way.

There are special threads for venting. Though people do read them. Here's one for other September filers at the CA service Center, they're in the same boat as you so you can all complain together. :)http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/274679-september-csc-filers/
