Ours turned out great...in the end we had.

Turducken Roll stuffed with Cornbread Stuffing (Cornbread stuffing, stuffed inside of chicken which has been rolled up and stuff inside of duck meat, which is rolled up and stuffed inside of Turkey).

Cornbread dressing (being a Southern boy, I just had to contribute that)

Mashed Potatoes

Baked Sweet Potato with Toasted Pecans

Green Beans

And for dessert we had homemade Pumpkin Cheesecake. ;)

What are rock cornish game hens? Sounds good for sure!

They are very small, generally single size serving chickens. They aren't really game birds (I was sorry to hear that) and they can be male or female so I guess aren't really always hens either - boy talk about truth in advertising!

Regardless, they are small chickens about 1 1/2 pounds each. They turned out great! I made 2 so we can have left overs this week too ( )! I made cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, and carrots to go with the hens and cranberry sauce. I also made a pumpkin loaf for dessert, and all accompanied with a nice glass of wine.

Our dinner went great! It was the first time my husband had tortiere and ragou (spelling?). I am excited to make my very first TG dinner in November but am still kind of annoyed about how far in the season it is. I won't even be into fall by then, it'll be Christmas!

However I am excited to carve a pumpkin this weekend :)

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

Hmm tortiere! I made a tortiere a few years ago for a Christmas pot luck - it was a big hit and I had to share the recipe with a number of people.

Funny. I was looking at a tourtiere recipe on Monday and thinking I might make that.

Your dinner looks great, Danu!

My Canadian husband and I will be celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving here in the U.S. He is really bummed because he wanted to be with his family (everyone else is together at his parent's home). He really wanted "New Brunswick style" baked beans so they went in the crock pot last night. When I get home, I will be finishing up the mashed potatoes and dressing roast with cream of mushroom sauce. There will be corn and hot rolls on the side.

Oooh. Can I have the recipe? I lost my baked bean recipe which really sucks because it came from my friend's foster Mum and she's dead now. :( She made the best baked beans ever.

My husband's birthday is coming up later this week and I think that is most of bummed part for him since his family always celebrated his birthday for him at Thanksgiving (although it was usually early).

I know exactly how he feels. My daughter was born on Thanksgiving weekend and I couldn't make it up there this year because of some ####### which is going on down here. I called the house where everyone was getting turkey dinner and I felt so so sad. :(

My husband is taking care the cooking today. He just made the cranberry sauce and is now cutting up his homemade bread to make the stuffing now. We went apple picking yesterday and there's an apple pie baking in the oven. Omg it smells so good in here and the turkey isn't even in the oven yet! :D

That's awesome. The way you described it I can almost smell it at my house too! I had this mad urge to find an apple farm and do the same thing. Fall just makes me do that.

Well, since I'd made a complete roast chicken dinner the weekend before, we ended up having a rib roast with mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed carrots and cabbage, peas, and yorkshire puds. OMG, it was yum.
