I miss having everyone over for big meals. :(

We're heading north this weekend. I'm bringing all of the goodies for my boys....baked goods and the obligatory "Can you get me something at duty free?" stop.

Yay for you!! Have a safe trip and a lovely time, OBX.

This will be my last Canadian Thanksgiving while living in Canada. Since we have started dating, we always go up to see my family in Northern Ontario. This is the first year that Matt has not been able to get the Monday off of work...so it'll be a short visit up North. :(

Enjoy Thanksgiving and spending time with your family, Heather. :)

This is my last Thanksgiving while living in Canada too, unless something goes drastically wrong with the visa. My brother and his fiancee are coming from Toronto and we're doing some kind of buffet at mine/my dad's place here Saturday. Sunday A is coming in from Michigan and will hopefully make it for turkey, or at least the leftovers. Monday we're going to a local fall fair, a favourite tradition of mine that I haven't been able to go to in several years.

I had really wanted to go to Ann Arbor on Saturday for the big Michigan - Michigan State game but sadly, it's too expensive and we're both too busy as it is. Hopefully next year!

Good luck with your Visa. Have a good Thanksgiving...remember border traffic will be a nightmare this weekend too.

Good point, I didn't even think of that. I keep telling him to get his darn Nexus card. It's been a lifesaver.

My husband has one, he loves it except when the bridge traffic is so backed up that he can't even get to the Nexus lane. I haven't gotten one since I'll be moving soon and I didn't want to pay them twice :P

I didn't think you had to, it's based on your citizenship, isn't it? You can just change your address they have on file. I assume, anyway.

Ah I see....well, I guess I'll be looking into a Nexus. Although, I don't typically wait that long considering I don't cross during 'peak times.'

Well, they don't question you as much and going through the Canadian side, you don't even have to talk to anyone (both places I cross at, anyway). That's what I like about it. :)

Well, they don't question you as much and going through the Canadian side, you don't even have to talk to anyone (both places I cross at, anyway). That's what I like about it. :)

There are 4 bridges that a Nexus user can take around here (Niagara region/Buffalo), one is dedicated strictly to Nexus users which I do believe you don't have to talk to anyone...the other 3 you do. My husband has even been selected for a random search TWICE while going through the Nexus lane on teeh Peace Bridge...which is odd considering you have the Nexus card to get away from those things.

The Nexus only bridge is actually quite the distance out of the way from where we both live so he never takes that one.

I forgot completely that it's Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend!!! Now, I DO feel sad!!!

We're not doing anything, we celebrate American Thanksgiving now.

Maybe you should have a small turkey and some stuffing to cheer you up. We celebrate both...we both have to take time off of work to celebrate each other's respective Turkey days.
