Most people do not care to have the values from their home challenged by a classroom teacher.

A teacher whose comments and inferences are insulated from challenge by the nature of the classroom.

Never forget, it's the Student who is mandated by the force of law to be there, not the teacher.

Protection of the Students rights are higher than are the rights of the teacher.... who is there voluntarily.

Education is about exploring experiences and challenging your views/values on issues and the world. Of course, some parents don't want the views/values they instill on their kids to be challenged.

Well I just asked questions which you declined to answer. But as the function of a teacher does not concern her sex life, yes--there would be no appropriate time to ask or to tell, specifically, about sexual preference, other than in passing. Transgendered people would be the same. A straight teacher who explored her sexual behavior with her students would correctly be censured. What exactly is the issue?

It always amazes me that these kind of people are usually the first ones to start jumping up and down about "government intrusions" like seat belt or helmet laws. "Teh gub'mint ain't gonna tell me what to do!"

Those are just a few of many examples and the first that popped into my head. You want the government out of your life, but in people's bedrooms it's ok? Riiiiiight.

Not at all amazing. They just want to control different parts of your life. Pro choice...unless you want to have a choice to join a union or not. Pro-life...unless you are gay.

Not sure the logic of comparing grounds of employment for a school teacher, to people being free to manage their own safety.

Why would anyone suggest something so stupid for "the classroom" If they want to restrict sex IN THE CLASSROOM, that is fine. This is about sex in a person's BEDROOM (OK, or car, or the beach or wherever, but NOT in the classroom) Why would we have to discuss it? In what job is it appropriate TO ask or TO tell? It is NONE OF YOUR F*CKING BUSINESS! what part of that is hard to understand?

Get serious would you.... a teacher simply having a bible on her desk was deemed a breach of "The wall".

But naturally an openminded soul such as yourself would encourage some Bible thumping teacher the opportunity to open your childs mind.. and expand their views.
