My Husbands Greencard came in the mail today...

HOORAY!

we were STUNNED because we just sent in our RFE which they received on Jan. 19th (then we get his GREENCARD 9 DAYS LATER???)...we are thrilled, don't get me wrong!!!!!! But...I just noticed this thread and saw that people have been getting phony RFEs??? NOW after all the stress of that RFE I wonder if it was even real! :bonk:

tried for weeks to get actual check....not possible, had to wait the 90 days for info from USCIS

10/17/07 Phoned USCIS, got thru (!), got WAC number and NOA1 date!!!!

07/26/07 NOA1 (never recieved hard copy, was promised a copy would be sent)

11/01/07 Ordered copy of "long form" UK B.C.

11/05/07 Recieved B.C. (Wish USCIS was that fast!)

03/06/08 Visa Arrived....Lovely to finally see it even if it is a bit drab...after 8 month you think they'd have sprung for some gold foil or at least a COLOR photo?

TODAY...he's here! He's in the US! Hurrah!

I'm happy to report I've just checked the USCIS tonight site and got this message: On February 3, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

I don't think there is a difference... Vermont is just terribly slow. I'm sure all of the winter storms didn't help matters either. It was the same way when we went through the CR1 process 2 years ago

Hi Everyone

Congratulations to everyone who received their Greencards :dance: !

I also filed in October, and have just received an RFE for more evidence. We submitted a lot of evidence, but they must consider it soft evidence (which it is), as we now have this RFE. We submitted affadavits, 1 tax return, travel itineraries, and some personal things, but this is clearly not enough.

Our problem is we have not had a joint bank account, utility bills or credit card statements or ANY of the harder evidence which they requested. We do not even have a lease as we lease from this elderly polish lady who we pay in cash month to month. We have also been broke since I moved here as my husband lost his full-time job and we he has only been doing smaller jobs, so we have no joint health insurance, or legal records,NOTHING!

I am so concerned as we cannot just produce this stuff, but we have lived together here since September 2007. We sent affadavits so I really do not know what else we can do. Is there any way we can just request an interview, as that would probably be better at this point, as anything we send in will be yet more soft evidence :-(

Also do you think a backdated lease could work, as I think our landlady would write us one, but if its recent I am not sure it would hold any water?

Also I have to leave the country in March and am now worried this will make it difficult to get back in, or is that just me over-reacting!?

A lease would probably help. We got approved today, didn't send them a great deal and we do not have joint bank accoints. I did send our lease for the last few years, joint taxes, joint health insurance papers, travel stuff and that was about it to be honest. One thing I have learnt is that its not how much you send, its def the quality of it.

A lease would probably help. We got approved today, didn't send them a great deal and we do not have joint bank accoints. I did send our lease for the last few years, joint taxes, joint health insurance papers, travel stuff and that was about it to be honest. One thing I have learnt is that its not how much you send, its def the quality of it.

Congratulations to all those approved.

I'm the earliest CSC applicant to be approved in October now out of the few left. I'm getting a little frustrated that my application still states it's waiting a response to an RFE on the 18th November despite my calls to them to tell them the RFE was nonsense -- the letter was requesting my to make a biometrics appointment when I already had one booked for the 29th November, (that I attended.) My account hasn't been touched since the day of my biometrics.
