Also, don't depend too much on getting a text of email notification. We got our approval back in late June, our visa was approved at the Embassy last week, and I JUST got an email and text notification of our original approval yesterday, over 3 months after we were approved. There are lots of people who receive an NOA2 in the mail without ever having gotten a text or an email.

Your wife's friend who got her NOA2 in a month must have gotten really lucky. There were a group of us who filed in late May/early June right when they were starting to send things to the Dallas Lockbox who got approved really quickly. I got my NOA2 in 22 days. I had NO touches after the initial online file setup. I was actually at the doctor's office when I got a text saying we'd been approved, we weren't expecting it for a while longer. We had some really bad luck with an attorney who didn't know what she was doing, so she delayed us quite a bit, but in the end, we got the visa in hand within 3 1/2 months of our NOA1. This is NOT normal, it can take 3 1/2 months or more to get your NOA2 and you'd still be within what the USCIS considers NORMAL processing time. Don't give up. I'm notoriously unlucky, and so is my fiance, and in this one instance where it mattered most, we got it quickly. Hopefully you'll hear something soon and it'll fly through the NVC as well.

You'll get there. Take care, and good luck!

It would also seem that all of those WHAM/BAM May and June filings have slowed down A LOT. Looking at what people have been saying lately, it would seem all of those people in Dallas who needed more work...got it. ;)

I would tell my FINACE to chill out. If she is starting this process by blaming you for things you CANNOT control then you're going to be miserable for the small amount of time it takes to get it done. Tell her to look at the big picture, both of you be prepared with all of the steps your Embassy requires, and you'll be good to go on a snappy timeline.

The I-129F was received on 7/29/2010. The last time it was touched was 8/3/2010, just four days after they received it. It's now two months later since the last time it was touched. Is this normal. I'm really nervous about this. When i call i just get the recording telling me that they received it on the 29th of July. What should i do?

Mine also 7/29 and touched on 8/5 and nothing since then. I am shooting towards end of November. Just hang in there buddy. We all in it together.

My I-129F was received 7/29/10 as well and touched on 8/5/10 Vermont Service Center Rec'd My NOA1 in August on my Birthday, but since then no touches or anything yet the last thing I saw was an estimate as to when they will adjudicate it which was November or December it quite possibly not be until the New Year, but as to when who knows, the Government moves very slow on these things almost like watching paint dry lol. It is difficult for my Fiancee in that I have no Idea when to tell her that she may get a letter, and hopefully no RFE's. I have to tell her to have faith that it is in the works. I have found that the government moves fast when they want your money, but always slow when it comes to delivering services. In the age of computers i am surprised it takes so long, but what can I say we have the finest Bureaucracy on the planet...lol. At any rate have faith you are within the time line 5 months.

yeah isn't the bureaucracy great? we should put them in charge of our health care too, well i'll stop there, it's a sensitive subject (and off topic). Anyways, after reading what everyone posted, i'm no longer worried about it at all and I really thank everyone for their comments. She is really anxious about getting here because of her work situation too. Her boss finally figured out that she isn't going to be around a whole lot longer and is starting to treat her like #######. All i can tell her is not to just get through it because soon she will be here in the US where people are a bit more respectful to nurses.

you don't have anything to worry about. normal waiting time for NOA2 is 4-6 months (we got ours on our 4th month of sending the I-129F). My friend who hired an immigration attorney and processed their application last April 2010, until now they don't have their NOA2 yet (which is almost after their 6th month). your fiance's friends is one lucky duck to have hers for 30days time. I remember there was also one case filed last december 2009 and then got approved january 2010 so it's just a matter of luck. no worries =)

All right, great news. Got the NOA2 yesterday. The funny thing is, the USCIS website was never updated. It still says last touched 8/3/2010. So i guess they just forgot to update it or something. Anyways, you can't always trust that site I guess.

Yeah, USCIS website dont update their information too often. I did not get any of my confirmation a year after I was already living in the states.

My aunt and her now husband got married in the Philippines. It took them 6 months until her papers got approved.

With my case I was living in Australia so that is a different story.I hope you get all your papers all sorted out soon.
