DS-230 from Stephen + Elisha

Hello Mods.

Stephen + Elisha did some of the members a great service by providing certain forms that you can edit and save, like the DS-230 (as you all know they are notoriously long forms, and members have to fill them up but cannot save the information), DS-157 and DS-156K.

Unfortunately, it was pointed out to me recently that what Stephen + Elisha had was already outdated (you can find these forms in their post signature), and I believe it would be great if the most recent version of the forms could be unlocked and turned into forms that can be edited AND saved...

Is Stephen + Elisha no longer active on the board? Perhaps there is someone among the remaining active members who can help. I think it would be good to continue his tradition of service to the members.

Thanks,

Kaye (marriedtomrg)

I just looked at the forms in their signature and they're all up to date except the DS-156 which just expired 9/30/2010. The other forms expire in either 2011 or 2012.

I don't know anything about the DS-156 since I'm applying for the CR-1 visa and we don't need to fill that form out.

Hi there.

My concern wasn't about whether or not the forms were up-to-date...rather that the DS-230 and DS-156K (not the DS-156) are fillable forms, but users are unable to save the information they type into those forms, like the G-325 or the I-130 or the I-129F.

Stephen + Elisha was able to unlock the forms so that users can edit AND save their information in them. Unfortunately the ones that they share on their signature are no longer current...so I was hoping one of the members could help if Stephen + Elisha is no longer an active VJ Member.

Yes, it's the online form, I was referring to the DS-156K not the DS-156.

Isn't the DS-156 done online now so that you get the barcode printed on the form?

Sorry, I must have mis-understood your first post. It sounded like you were saying the forms were outdated and that's why I replied saying all of them except the DS-156K were current. And in my first post, I did mean the DS-156K, not the DS-156. Must have missed that 'K' while typing, lol.

And they were all save-able for me. But I have Adobe Acrobat Pro which lets me save these forms.

I posted the following at a different thread, but I'll post it again here in case someone hasn't found a solution.

I found that Foxit Reader does the trick for DS-230!! Using Foxit, I could type in the form and save it!! :)

Then after saving the form, I could use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to modify the saved text and then save it. However, Adobe Reader 9 still could not save to a Foxit modified form.

Foxit Reader can be downloaded here, and it is free!! :)

I was going to upload an unlocked copy of the DS-230 form, but since Adobe Reader won't be able to save to it, there is no point in doing so.

Fellow VJ's are better of installing Foxit Reader to fill out their DS-230 and other locked forms. :)
