tariffs alone won't fix the problem.

Getting rid of unions on top of that and getting rid of the minimum wage as well.

Unfortunately otherwise, American made = unaffordable to the average family.

Your right Paul! Let Americans earn 50 cents an hour too, in order to compete with China.

After seeing the end result of few controlling the wealth and the rest being dirt poor in Brazil, I'll never support any policy that encourages the same over here. I now 110% support adopting the strategies of other first world countries rather than some Brazil and increasing minimum wage to a livable $13+ an hour.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I agree, but Americans don't buy American-made goods because they are more expensive than Chinese #######.

I have no idea how you'd fix that, short of a full blown trade war with China.

Education needs to begin with every single American, even those out of school. Americans residing in rust-belt states, among other states, need to wake up and realize that by buying Chinese and not supporting products manufactured in America, they are shooting themselves in the foot. So the few bucks saved now, ends up costing them in the long run.

you truly are ignorant of inflation aren't you?

Get back to me when you understand inflation, why it occurs, and why $13 an hour is absurd if you understand the logic behind it.

Inflation isn't 'natural.'

Paul, I'm a libertarians worst nightmare. Not only do I believe in a healthy minimum wage, considering millions are stuck in walmarts, but I also believe in a federal GST/VAT of ~10%. FA is manufactured here, therefore, what is sold from abroad should be taxed accordingly; with the revenue generated by means of taxation, invested back into America. Even used to prop up US industries, without a trade war.

You have spoken about Texas and infrastructure before but compared to projects abroad, the infrastructure there is pale in compassion. I'd rather implement strategies like taxation that build a country, than stick to ideologies, that are replicated in third world countries.

Millions would still be stuck in Wal-Marts if you raise the minimum wage.

You avoided the point I was making, which I expected, because it offers a cruel dose of reality if you understand it.

"A cruel dose of reality" is that an entire house in Houston, barely covers the deposit on a house in AUS. So you tell me who knows better about how to get the show on the road. Had one single other first world country, rather than third world countries, had libertarian / tea-party ideologies in action, I'd ponder these weird views. Just one..

Had I been in charge of advancing the country, I begin by breaking up Walmart like the Bells were broken up years ago. An organization that powerful does nothing for the American people and has killed the competition that is vital under ideal capitalism. I'd rather have 10 competing walmarts than one. While the waltons and their shareholders get wealthier, the rest of America - including their employees - get poorer. ALDI on the other hand, at the very least pays their employees well; over $16.97 USD per hour in AUS actually.

Yes, if minimum wage was increased, many would still work for walmart and would now have the opportunity to make ends meet. This would then have a trickle effect into the rest of the economy. Who loses? The waltons, as they only get to earn $3.5 billion, instead of $3.8 billion. While the 300 million less has a negligible impact on the Waltons, it would have a massive positive impact on the American economy.

You're right, what would I know. So lets compare Boston to Melbourne, with Boston being larger and having a larger population.

PS Find me the equivalent pics in my signature in any Australian city. But they're happy right

your first statement shows your ignorance. In a good economy, you want a low cost of living.

Look at this from a proper perspective.

3500 sq foot house -

$200,000 USD in Texas

OR

$500,000 in Melbourne

Let's pretend everything is the exact same about the houses... hmmmm, which one am I going to buy?

^^ here's an interesting point ^^

almost everything on those lists costs a fraction of the cost as it does in AUS.

About 50% less in comparison to Melbourne on many things and even over 100% less on things in Sydney...

Yup, Australia is awesome! You guys pay a ####### ton more for the same exact junk!

What do your pics prove about your capability to run the country? Changing the subject again? Tsk tsk.

Actually, what were you trying to prove with your pics?

In layman terms, we do a hell of a lot better job in running world renowned cities. Therefore, have an excellent track record of knowledge regarding generating growth and improving Q.O.L for all.
