In today's world you really don't have the option to opt out. You can't just up and move to another country on a whim. The other country has to want to take you in as well and without taxes if you don't want to pay them.

This isn't the 1840's where land was up for grabs and there was no tax burden anywhere.

It's a much more populous world where everyone owns everything, especially on a government level and they want everyone to pay regardless of situation/use of materials.

You do have an option, you just find it personally unsavory. There are several islands in the south pacific that could be purchased.

you know it's amusing really.

The "human rights" crowd and the "pro tax everything" crowd are all in the same boat, yet are willing to ignore "human rights" in the name of taxation. Of course "rights" are all subjective anyway I suppose, but it is amusing.

Nice hyperbole to try to make your point legitimate. Rob has pointed out that taxes aren't theft. If you feel you are unfairly taxed (which I highly doubt), then you can do one of two things - vote for the candidates who'll promise you the world for free, or move to where there are no taxes.

You know whats really funny? Your absurd sense of context here. Libtards like you think that any taxes are stealing and an affront to you.

he didn't point out that they weren't theft. he just tried to make excuses and so-called 'outs' for them which aren't exactly an option for most people.

If you hold a gun to someone's head and demand money, it's theft. Period.

I did make that point paul, you are just willfully ignorant. I will remind you paul, if you don't like the taxes, you can opt out and either buy your own island, or move to Somalia, no regulations, no taxes, that's gotta be a paradise for Libtards like you.

Income taxes are stealing. Consumption taxes are not. This is why many want a "fair tax." This way you choose how much you pay and what you pay on....

Silly libertarians. If you libtards weren't so serious, I'd think it was a comedy act. Again, I will reiterate for you, taxes are not stealing, it is a part of the social contract in which you have consented to. If you dont' like it, you have other options.

You're trying your Jedi-Libertarian mind tricks and they aren't working. The pseudo-political science philosophy of Libertarianism is as out there as Dianetics. No one forced you to be USC and no one is forcing you to live here, and actually....throwing some of those Jedi-Libertarian mind tricks right back at you - if Libertarians regard employment as voluntary and all that entails, that means you agreed to paying income tax! AHA! Don't want to pay federal income tax, then quit your job, Jedi!

Everywhere is freaks and hairies

Dykes and fairies, tell me where is sanity

Tax the rich, feed the poor

Till there are no rich no more?

I'd love to change the world

But I don't know what to do

So I'll leave it up to you

Population keeps on breeding

Nation bleeding, still more feeding economy

Life is funny, skies are sunny

Bees make honey, who needs money, Monopoly

I'd love to change the world

But I don't know what to do

So I'll leave it up to you

World pollution, there's no solution

Institution, electrocution

Just black and white, rich or poor

Them and us, stop the war

I'd love to change the world

But I don't know what to do

So I'll leave it up to you

Nice try, but no trophy for you.

Trading time/services rendered for money is not income. It's a 'sale' of services, yes. So possibly (in some states where services are taxable) you could charge sales taxes on your job/work, but it's not income. You're claiming a fee for your work rendered. It's supposed to be a 'break even' scenario.

Much more detailed than I have right there, a few people have fought income taxes in court based on that argument and have had a very strong argument that won a lot of support. Of course a judge isn't going to go against the governmnt that put him into place, but it has been well argued on those grounds before.

The 16th Amendment says you are wrong.

The 16th Amendment says you are wrong.

Not quite, but nice try.

""The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration.""

The 16th amendment fails to define income. Therefore even your mother giving you a birthday present could be construed as income by this amendment.
