Applying for visitor B1/B2 visa w/ pending K3 visa?

Hello All,

Im a newbie and even though I've read thru alot of the helpful info out there, I didnt see anything on this before so I just want some advice about this from anyone out there.

I have just received my NOA1 for the I-130 and will drop the I-129F into the mail tomorrow. I called the Jerusalem consulate where the case will eventually be sent and asked the wait times after they receive my I-130 and they say estimates are over a year before he will get the final approval and able to travel to the USA. Our situation really sucks cause after we got married in the West Bank this last July, I spent only 4 days with my husband and had to return to work in the USA.

If we applied now for a B1/B2 visa for him to come visit me for a month, and I write in my invitation letter that I am his wife and would like him to visit me here in the USA so that we can have a decent honeymoon because I left right after we got married, and that we also had a pending I-130 and attached a copy og the NOA1 to my invitation letter, what are the chances that they will actually approve this kind of visa if there is a I-130 petition pending in the States or will that be the reason for their denial?

We're just thinking that the $100 for the visa fee is worth the gain or possible loss, and if it gets him here to the USA with me to visit even for a month or two it will be worth it since the wait time for his visa will be so long. Anyways, any one with comments will be great, I wanted to get other VJs view or experience with this visa.

Thanks Everyone,

Eman

Unfortunately, Visit visas are almost impossible after the submission of petition. The best thing is to just wait for the K3 approval. Also I am not sure how the consulate works there, but most consulates have the rule that you cannot apply in for a visa for the next six months. I am not sure if it applies to immigrant visas.
