So, I dont understand the meaning of an e-mail I recieved today from the USCIS & the update on my online status.

The message reads from the USCIS: "ON AUGUST 18TH WE RESPONDED TO YOUR REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION CONCERNING YOUR CASE. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECIEVED OUR RESPONSE WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THIS DATE PLEASE CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE"

It doesnt make sense that if I have not recieved their response that I should call customer service, what response?

Now, I did call customer service today to ask a simple and general question about what I should do If I were to recieve a 2nd RFE and whether I would be notified by e-mail, but it was just a "what if" question. My question: Is this "Touch" just a acknoledgment that I called in today or is it a "Touch" of my case?

Do you suspect you will receive a second RFE... like your concerned you did something incorrect? If you are not suspecting that you will receive one, and you think you've gotten everything sent in, I would suspect that you are right and this "touch" was just because of your call.

However, it is strange how it is worded. I would diligently check my mail over the next week, just in case they are sending you something... but I wouldn't worry if you don't receive anything.

Relax, they simply responded to your call, that's it. Nothing else happened.

Await more exciting information. It is forthcoming!
