Finally finished and sent our I-129F application thank you to everyone who has posted in this forum we couldn't have done it without you!!!

Just wondering though.. We sent it on September 23rd via Fedex to the courier address suggested for courier deliveries:

USCIS Attn: I-129F 2501 South State Highway 121 Business Suite 400 Lewisville, TX 75067

but we haven't heard anything yet. I have checked that it was delivered and signed for ..but should we have received confirmation from USCIS by now? We did include a G-1145 clipped to the inside cover.

If this normal, no problem, but if not who do we contact to follow up? Just want to be sure because that this took months to prepare and I would hate to lose the 455 money order that was included just because of a delivery mistake or something like that.

Thanks in advance for any help,

-Matt

You could sign up for case status updates at the USCIS website. Also, do you have a way to check if the money order has been cashed?

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

I can take up to 30 days to receive the NOA1. It does not affect the date of the NOA1. Even though the "paper" may not arrive for a month, your NOA1 date is when it was received, or thereabouts.

I suggest NEVER using money orders. Personal checks provide another way to track the package. They usually do not delay cashing the check (can you imagine it?)

Okay.. still nothing but I'm just going to keep waiting and hopefully we hear something soon.

Has anyone else sent their package by courier and had to wait 30 days before hearing anything?

I wish I hadn't used a money order now :( I can't find the receipt so I can't even get in touch with the money order people and find out if it's been used.

Just to check tho .. the G-1145 form clipped to the file doesn't mean they text/email you as soon as they receive it? Is it that they text/email you when they begin reviewing it, or whats the deal?

Finally, if I have not heard from them after 30 days what should i do? Is there any way to contact them?

Thanks in advance for your help, sorry for being so crazy but this process is stressful at the best of times..

Hi guys, sadly 30 days have passed and I we have heard nothing back.

There has been no text, no email, and nothing in the post since we sent in our application by courier to the dallas lockbox facility a month ago.

Before We start again and forfeit the $455 fee (money order with no receipt), can you tell me if there is any way we can contact USCIS and ask them to check..?

I just can't believe after all of that they've lost our application. Unbelievable.

Kiwi...you should definately call and check the status especially since it has been over 30 days. It could be that your application went through and your NOA1 got lost in the mail or it could be that your application was returned to you for more infomation and it got lost in the mail. Lots of variables here.

Call and check, they should be able to give you your case number then you can track your status on the USCIS website. They will only contact you from the info on the G1145 when your NOA1 is completed.

Definitely worth calling them.. If you can't get any information and it goes on for much longer, you could try getting your congress office involved. They're currently a huge help with my sisters case. She's filed for CR1 and been waiting 9 months for a NOA1. :( Got the congress office involved a couple months ago. They've been able to get answers and talk to people that my sister and her hubby never would've been able to.

I hope you get it soon!!

Hey, so sorry to hear about this. When you mailed it in, was it regular mail or through an Express service/courier? The former goes to a lockbox in Dallas, while the latter goes to Lewisville. If you mailed it regular mail to Lewisville, maybe there was confusion on the part of USCIS? Good luck sorting this out- fingers crossed for you. I'm mailing my own 129F off in about a week.
