What job did you guys get(or are interested) after you got the EAD.

I just got mine and I'm looking for a job

6/26/2005 arrived to us with J1

9/09/2005 got married

05/03/2006 send I-485,I-765 and I-130 to Chicago

05/12/2006 received Rejection Notice on I-130

05/15/2006 received Rejection Notice on I-485 and I-765

05/20/2006 send papers again

05/22/2006 USCIS received the forms(1)

06/01/2006 NOA1 for all 3 of them(11)

06/05/2006 TOUCHED(15)

06/15/2006 letter with biometrics appointment(25)

06/17/2006 I-130 and I-765 TOUCHED(27)

06/20/2006 biometrics taken(30)

06/21/2006 I-485 and I-765 TOUCHED(31)

07/27/2006 received letter with interview date set for september 29(68)

08/03/2006 I-765 TOUCHED(75)

08/09/2006 I-765 aproved(81)

08/11/2006 got work permit in the mail(83)

08/17/2006 I-765 TOUCHED(89)

A lot depends on what qualifications and experience you have that could be applied to a new job now you're in the US.

Without previous experience or some specific qualifications you'll be hard pushed to get anything but an entry level position but it is always possible to work your way up if you can prove you are a quick learner and willing to do what it takes.

If you have previous experience in a certain field then I would suggest trying to use that to improve your chances of getting a job offer. I would strongly suggest the use of staffing and temp agencies to help you get a foot in the door. Being new to the US you won't have the contacts which help you to find out about new openings. A staffing or temp agency will provide the crucial link between newly available employment opportunities and you.

A good staffing agency can also provide more information on your skills, experience and immigration situation than is normally possible in a resume. This extra info could be the difference between getting an interview and not getting onto a shortlist.

Timeline Summary

11/30/2007 - I-751 Mailed to Nebraska

12/28/2007 - NOA Received (application has been forwarded to California)

01/09/2008 - Biometrics taken in St. Louis

03/27/2008 - I-751 Approved, 10 Yr Greencard in the mail !!

12/20/2016 - N-400 mailed to Phoenix lockbox

01/17/2017 - NOA Received

01/25/2017 - Attended biometrics in St. Louis

09/29/2017 - Received I-797C notice dated 09/27/17.  Interview Scheduled for November 6th @ 8am

11/06/2017 - N400 interview in St. Louis.  Approved !!:jest:

02/05/2018 - Notice of Oath Ceremony date received.  March 1st, 2018 @ 8.30am

Those are both good job search sites. You might also look online at the local newspapers, not just the area in which you live. We plan on looking in the surrounding county's classifieds as well as the two job sites listed in the above post. Best of luck with the job hunting :)
