Take you Fiance and just travel the country. I usuall start out in Davao and will look at a place far on the map like CDO and just hop a bus and start heading that way. I will make stops at places that look cool or interseting and spend the night or a few days there.

I make each trip to PI an adventure.

Do you go thru Cotobato? Good way to lose your head if you do so.

Central Mindanao is NOT a good place for puti at this time.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Have you thought about taking your Fiancée to another country, They have great low cost packages to Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam,(almost same cost as a Boracay trip)and she does not need a visa, (US citizen does in Vietnam), this is something she will very much enjoy, and you may not get another chance to do something like this down the road, as future trips will be focus on visiting the family in the PI.

We have, although it sounds about the same cost wise, I think we'll end up spending more in the long run.....I'd like to figure out a quick, cheap way to El Nido.....Thailand is what we were considering, I'd travelled there a few times and to do it cheap takes time....to do it quick means missing the best parts......

Palawan, is also very nice, but seems to me it is still in the catagory of sandy beach resorts LOL.

I took 2 package tours from the Philippines 1 ea to Thailand & Vietnam, and they were "great" prices, and included all transpotation & hotels, some meals (meals were not that good). I found that I only could get the better prices direct from a Philippines travel agent "not on the internet"). The Hotels were 4 & 5 star.

So our out of pocket was mostly food & some optional tours, airport & travel taxes. As the packages are put together by tour guide companies, they will show you all the good tour options to make the trip complete.

Thanks for your help and advice!!

No, actually, we won't be having a legal wedding, only a ceremony in PH. We will have the legal wedding in US after obtaining her visa.

That's what my husband and I did. I got here in the USA on a K-1 visa and then we got married in the courthouse. Once I got my Advance Parole (I-131), we got married in church in the Philippines. :) We went to Palawan for our honeymoon, by the way. ;)

LOVE LOVE LOVE

We had our honeymoon in Bohol.

We saw the Tarsiers, went to the Chocolate Hills, had lunch on a floating restaurant, etc,.

Our original plan was to go to the HK Disneyland but because of the cost (higher hotel/package rates at the time) we we choose Bohol.

I am already planning a great second Honeymoon for when she come to NYC. Disney World/Disney Park (Florida), Six Flags Great Adventures & Broadway's The Lion King.

Most of the nice spots in the Philippines are beach-setting. I guess Vigan is historical, but may not be as romantic. Why not take her to Thailand or Indonesia? ^_^ Bah, most of Southeast Asian countries are known for the nice beaches/resorts. Ah, Malaysia? ^_^

Sorry, not many ideas :( Argh, take her to France. There it would be romantic without the beach-setting :) The "no beach" restriction is tricky because most of the countries in the Pacific, including (and especially) the Philippines would definitely be inclined to that :(

I know! We'll be pretty broke too after everything's said and done. I think we may take a cruise out of Singapore. There are some nice cruises that go out of that port - not too expensive. Also, we can get plane tickets to and from Singapore for a pretty good price. Hope it works out! Budget is getting pretty tight.

Congrats to you and your wife! Lapit na! (Almost near, as my Filipina Mahal would say)

She would love to go to France. Unfortunately, not in the budget!
