We thought we were done with this whole process but when we finished with the interview they gave us a blue sheet of paper which says this requires additional administrative time. How long should this last section take??? Thanks!

Please put in your beneficiary country and create your timeline. Then tell us what exactly the blue slip had on it. Then people can help you in a meaningful way. Thanks and I'm sorry you hit a snag.

Administrative Process (AP) takes anything around 4 to 8 weeks. They do some background check and name check in that. If you are clear, nothing to worry.

Sal, that's an incorrect blanket statement.

AP can last as long as the specific consulates cares for it to last. It can be four weeks in London or two years at Casa.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

Probably has to do with the country you are involved with. All you can do is wait.

What a bunch of #######! We were in AP for 8 months and I have friends that are almost 1 year now... Please think before you post misinformation... As was said its different from one consulate to another and depending on what they are looking for...

Its not a misinformation. What will i get by giving wrong information and why will i do that? I have 2 H1B visas and both the time i was in AP and it did not take more than 8 weeks to clear that out. May be it varies from case to case but it certainly is not a misinformation. AP is not related to consulate. AP cases to go DoS. When the case goes to AP, it means they do deep background check.
