I Called the Kingston Counsulate 2 days ago and spoke with a local cold hearted female. She said the process was changed and now the petitioner is not able to enter the building.. I told her that your office sent me 2 emails saying that I would be allowed to enter.. She said the email/s now won't work..

MAWNIN Ricardo -- what a stress! This really should have been publicized, but what can we do but follow the rules. My cousin had her interview 9/28 and her fiance was able to go in with her. I wonder why the change? The only thing I can think of -- maybe it's too crowded. I don't know, but that's my only guess. Thanks for your help with my friend's issue -- she sent the kids home and she says thanks for the information.

Heheheh Good mornin' I did send an email to the embassy yesterday regardiing the issue. It's my parent's interview but I just wanted to see what it is like in the embassy. I have not gone in there before. From what I understand my parents will be asked general questions. As sooon as I get a response I will update accordingly..!

Yes Definately... it IS my desire to help. It was the best decision where the children are concerened, this I promise you. If the children had the expired green cards those must be returned to the local counsulate. This is best as it would be better for the children is they decide they want to visit/live in the usa. Gosh, let me see. I've had a few friends that filed for their parents last year and they were only asked a couple of questions, like who is filing for you, what they (son/daughter) did for a living, where they lived in the states -- questions along those line.

I told her it was the best as well, in case the children decide to return to the states when they get older. I didn't ask her about the green card -- didn't think about that. She did write a letter to USCIS informing them that the children will return...she never received a response.

I also sent an email yesterday asking about this "New Rule" and they also confirmed it. Here is the response:

Ok my question in response to this is, from all the interviews i have read and heard about from the time you reach the gate till the time the interview occurs the consulate officers are asking for various forms all of which are confusing im sure.If they are aware that the petitioner filed all of the ppwk and set the whole process up, how would they expect the beneficiary to understand or know what forms they are inquiring about? this process becomes more and more confusing day by day?

Wow what a new policy to have. Our interview is on 10/29 and I've already made travel arrangements for the interview. I guess I will still go and see what happens.

Hello All/Hope all is well. We finally received our interview date via email on Friday, 10/8/10. The interview is scheduled for November 2. We tried to contact the Medical Center in Montego Bay yesterday however the representative did not answer the phone nor did she return my husband's calls. Of course, the receptionist stated that the other representative was the only one that could help us to set the Immigration physical examination appointment. I called today and was told that it was not possible to receive an examination date for a 11/2/10 interview. I was also told that I need to reschedule the appointment and call with the appointment date in order to schedule an appt. Does anyone have a similar experience or can anyone give advice? Thanks so much

heck if he's willin to travel.. have him go to Medical Accosiates Hospital in Kingston.. I know it's like 3-4 hours away. IF that's not an option and the Mo Bay Hope Medical Center isnt able to set up an appointment then he may end up now sending an email to the Embassy to Reschedule the Interview that is set up for 11/2/10. MY mom's interview is on 11/1/11 and her medical will be done today in kintson... heck she called them today to confirm the appt. I set up and they wanted to set an appoint for Friday.. So from that.. seem as thought he'd be seen if he is willing to travel.

PS. Or .. you can call them up and gawn bad..!!

I sent an email to the Kingston, Jamaica Embassy as I stated. The email was sent on 10/6/2010... the embassy responded to me on 10/12/2010 and I received the response below:

Good day:

There is no specific documentation required for you to be able to attend the visa interview with your parents. In IR-5 cases, it is the normal practice to allow someone to accompany the visa applicant.

With this being received I hope tobe in the Interview and I am gonna get real crazy if the security guards are gonna give me problems tellin me i'm unable to get in when i got the information from the Embassy 19 days prior to the interview. From what I've gathered... it's based on the TYPE of case that the embassy is dealing with. I will update you all on 11/1/2010 after the interview.

I am curious as to what your result is, Ricardo - and hope they allow you in. I think that the shock and amazement coming from many yardies is that we have seen many people be blue slipped to have their fiance attend the interview with them - and now suddenly they are not allowed in? Are they still going to blue slip to have the fiance attend?

Also, for the fiance visa, the affidavit of support info is being provided at the interview - what if there are questions surrounding it? A fiance might not be able to clarify something in that -

I can understand for a visitor visa = But family based, the petitioner should be allowed in - and if they make a policy that they are not to be present at the interview, then the policy should be published somewhere and they should not be allowed to blue slip people to return with their fiance.
