I'm not sure about the Philippines, but when my fiancé came to Egypt with 3 rings, all for me, he didn't pay anything cause they're his, he was only asked why he has many rings and he just said I'm proposing to my girlfriend, there was no problem.

I'm not sure if there is where I would ask this question. I bought my fiancée a engagement/wedding band ring in the US. I'm planning on taking it with me on my trip to see her in the Philippines. Will I have to pay for taking it to the Philippines?

I simply placed my fiancee' ring in my carry-on and took it to her......no questions asked. At PI customs they asked me if I had a laptop is all. I told them my laptop was a 5 y/o Dell and I was away.

I would not worry about it.

Have a good trip.

Carry on - The ring went in my backpack next to the Zune player, Lonely Planet guidebook, magazines, etc. She wore it to the interview - and yes, the CO looked to see if my wife wore a ring. :thumbs:

04/26/2010 - Met in Philippines (for 2 weeks)

05/08/2010 - Officially engaged!! ( He sent the engagement ring 09/24/2010 and he proposed to me on bended knee in Philippines with the second part of engagement ring) *melting*

06/18/2010 - I-129F package Sent

06/21/2010 - NOA1

06/24/2010 - Touched

09/23/2010 - Touched (when I contacted the Congressman's office)

11/15/2010 - Touched (hopefully the approval)
