I just think contacting your congressman should be reserved for when something has gone wrong and you're outside processing times, not just because you're impatient. USCIS posts timelines for a reason

EAD approved for wife and daughter today 12/16/2010 recieved a text message advising to check online status. Says "On December 16, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days

I was at the USCIS local office this morning. They gave me the I-551 stamp and told me I should receive my GC in the next 30 days. :unsure: Anyhow, I can travel now! Safe travels! :P
