Well, hopefully your RFE is for something that is very easy to correct. And here's something to give you hope: I've read of a number of cases here on VJ (CSC transfers) that were approved very shortly after their RFE response was sent in. I hope it works out that way for you!

We Had our Interview today in Seattle.

A supervisor was in the room to witness our interview, She left before it started and did not return.

Very odd interview. Reviewed the data we sent on the I-485 application.

Our interview seemed more like our K-1 interview.

Where did we meet?, How was I received to the family? What did my wifes mother thing of me, first impression?

Asked for mail to the house with my wife and daughters name provided it for interviewer.

Interviewer was disappointed we did not have a joint lease or mortgage. I own a house with a mortgage would be difficult to have her name on the mortgage without a job or even papers to work. She has had her EAD for about 2 weeks.

I offered to have the homeowners policy faxed with the listed occupants of the house and he said that would be fine.

Interviewer said he would not make a decision at this time and someone else had to review the file.

The only odd thing with our case is my wife was in the United States Before on a previous K-1 and returned to Colombia when it did not work out. He asked questions about this case - seems to me that would be more of a K-1 question.

The other questions we about the I-485, Terrorist?, Communist?, Drug person? On Public assistance since in US?

He said he was not giving us a formal request for more proof just he needed time and a second opinion.

Not a single question about where we live other than address. No questions about the house. No request to see my current pay stubs or W2.

Rather disappointing for my wife and I. I think we passed just need to wait a few more weeks. :help:

Oh, your interview was today! I'm sorry to hear that it was a little disappointing for you. Actually, proof of shared domicile is pretty important evidence, I'd say, so it's too bad you didn't have that letter from your insurance with you. So, you offered to fax it, but they told you not to do so? Strange.

I guess you have to wait to hear further from them. Waiting sucks!

Thanks Floriannsman !

Wish I had good news to report !

Our interview is going to be re-scheduled :( ..... and for a reason that I would not have thought of in a million years !!

Our interviewer was a nice young lady and took us back to her office. As we walked in she asked Olga if she understood english and Olga said " yes ... simple english " ( .. and she does, when there is something she doesn't understand, we go to the dictionary or computer ).

She was then asked would you understand words like arrest, or conviction, or felony ? Olga looked at me as I tried to explain to her what they meant. The interviewer told me that as the petitioner I could not help her with the questions ( which is something Olga and I absolutely DID NOT expect!! )

At this point the interviewer asked if we had anyone with us that could be an interpreter, and of course we didn't. Olga and I asked several times if it would be possible to go ahead with the interview and the young lady said that she did not feel comfortable with continuing and that we will re-schedule. I asked if this was a failure or a denial and she said no, we will just re-schedule the interview and we can bring the interpreter with us next time. Talk about going from High to Low in .03 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!

Life is full of experiences, so all VJers out there ... take a little advice from our experience .... if there is any doubt of the beneficiaries' ability to understand complicated english words ... take an interpreter with you !!

So, Olga and I are back in the " waiting for an appointment letter " column .... but we do know the number and the address of an interpreter service in downtown Chicago now !

Best of Luck to Everyone !!!!
