Ahh, finally. My husband called USCIS today regarding not having a bio appointment yet and they told him the letter was mailed on Friday! We should have that soon, and I know Alexandria, VA accepts walk-ins, so hopefully we have have that done ASAP.

Had my biometrics last Wednesday, received a letter today (marked the same date as my biometrics) that my case has been transferred to CSC. I hope that's a good sign. No touches/updates on my online case status though.

Question about calling our Congressman: while waiting on AOS to be approved, is it worth trying to get in touch with our local Congressman so he can contact the USCIS office on our behalf about our EAD application? It has been just over a month now since we got NOA1 for EAD. So anyway to speedup an EAD approval at that stage? Waiting another month as per VJ timeline prediction is not bad at all, it was just a $.02 question

I think it's premature. USCIS guideline for EAD is 90 days. Hopefully it will come sooner, but no need to worry yet.

Why not call the congressman's office? It can only help you get an expedited approval..

I just think contacting your congressman should be reserved for when something has gone wrong and you're outside processing times, not just because you're impatient. USCIS posts timelines for a reason. It's unreasonable for every applicant to be calling up their Senator a month after applying, pestering them for expedite. If you have a valid reason for expedite, such as financial hardship and a job offer in-hand then I can understand. But not just because you're impatient or bored. Everyone should have been prepared from the start for at least a 3-month wait.

So its been 2 months and 4 days since our AOS packet was received and still no biometrics appointment. Do you think that I should be worried. We called thje 1-800 number and they said they would look into it. We went in for an infopass appointment and they said that there are just alot of people in front of us. Do you think this is really going to delay the ead? Hubby really wants to start working.

I sent our AOS off early October forget the date to be honest but got NOA1 26th October and each day after for EAD and AP got Bio appointment for 19th November could not make it so sent in request for another date and still waiting to hear from that. Had RFE for my hubbie's tax return 1040 this week Tuesday 7th sent off yesterday 8th express post and they will receive it Friday. Just want to get the Bio done so things will move on .

Well according to my count it's been 56 days since you got your NOAs. Not yet over two months, but getting close.

When you called USCIS did they say they were putting in a service request? I assume that's what you mean by them saying they'd "look into it". Aside from that there's not much you can do. There seem to be people in various places that are waiting over 2 months for appointments, with Dallas being the worst (at least you're not there!). We've been waiting 43 days so far, and other people who filed in August in my area were waiting about two months.

The good news is that most people I've seen who had a long wait for biometrics, often get their EAD approved the same day or within a few days of finally having the appointment. So don't worry yet. If they put in a service request then you will hopefully hear back soon.

The processing guidelines for Chicago show 4 months for AOS; I guess that means they are a little ahead of their guidelines (since we'll be at the 3 month mark by interview time) and so they are taking interviews rather than transferring to CSC.

I suddenly feel a little nervous, but we've got some solid evidence for the interview, and one of our friends recently had an easy interview in Chicago for AOS from K-1 So, no worries!

We got back an email yesterday for the service request saying that we pretty much just have to wait. I dont know why I just have a bad feeling that this is really going to hold up the ead. How did you check about the people in August who filed were waiting around 2 months?
