Dear VJ's,

I applied for the Birth Certificate and they stated that they are not able to find my records.....

Please can you let me know whats the other alternative.

The issuing authority has also mentioned that they are ready to issue me a letter that they are not able to find my records, will that work.

Along with that I do have my school certificate which states my DOB and also the affidavits from my parents.

I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR IMMEDIATE RESPONSE.

For India it says :

In cases where birth certificates from the authorities are unavailable or contain insufficient information regarding the birth or the parents, a sworn affidavit executed by either the parents, if living, or other close relatives older than the applicant, may be submitted. It should set forth the relationship between the deponent and the applicant, how well the deponent knows the applicant, date and place of the applicant's birth, the names of both parents, and any other related facts. Such an affidavit, when a birth certificate is unavailable, should be accompanied by a document from a competent governmental authority confirming that the certificate does not exist, or no longer exists.

Well this is from their own website, so i suppose you could print this portion out and bring it with you.

Get the issuing authority to issue you a letter as you had mentioned and get something from your parents as it states on their website.

You need not to worry. If you have employer letter or PAN card or Driving license which can mention your birth date then that will do. They asked me the same thing at Chennai consulate and i showed them my PAN Card and they were cool with that. All they need is 2 secondary evidences in case of no birth certificate and they could be anything.

As per rules, Embassy can OR even NVC can ask for Birth Certificate.

All you need to do it, go to local office (city) in India and register it and got the certificate.

It will take some time to get it but you will get it.

Try to follow other suggestions too (you may got lucky), all Embassy are different in India...

Please look for posts by the user KnightandMagpie. She went through the London embassy but she was from India and had no birth certificate. She was a UK citizen, so I'm not sure how comparable your situations are, but I know she posted about her experience, and if she's still around she might reply to a PM.
