I was interviewed last aug 6,2010.After checking my documents the CO asked me when was the last time i saw the petitioner( my father). And i answered that he is still here in the philippines for a vacation. And I told him that if ever I'll be granted visa,he will be back to US with us, me and my son. and the CO ask another supporting documents such as proof of domicile and life, affidavit of support I864A, and letter of explanation from the petitioner why he didn't file an income tax ( we are only required to submit a documents at window 17 to 20 ), and we submitted it last september 21, 2010 but til now we haven't receive the visa. anyone can give an idea on how many days is waiting time in visa issuance. can we follow up it to US embassy?

Can we request an expedite for the visa issuance because we need to go there before october 12 because the one who volunteer to accompany my parents who are taking care of them will leave on that date, and my parents can't live by their own because they are old and sickly and always need companion.

You're currently undergoing administrative processing...which sometimes can take either less than 2 weeks up to several weeks, depending on what it is they are reviewing.

Only the petitioner can follow up at the Embassy. If your dad is up to it, he can call them; they will only entertain calls from him, not his beneficiaries.

Are you applying for an F1 visa (student) or F3 visa (married children of US citizen)?

No we are not administrative process because in the form that they gave to us after the interview. embassy said, we have to submit only the additional docs. they didnt check or mark the "administrative process" in the form, only submit it to window 17 to 20.

Well they still haven't issued you guys a visa...because they asked for more documentation. Depending on what it is they are trying to verify, it could take less than 2 weeks up to several weeks.

They're still reviewing the documentation you presented before they come to a decision on whether or not to grant the visas...why didn't your dad file income tax? That sounds problematic. I could be wrong, perhaps some of the other members can shed light on that subject.

Checking out documents takes time, and the caseworkers are very busy.

Maybe you should call the Embassy and talk to your caseworker. Your caseworker may be able to speed things up for you.

He is exempted for filing income tax because he is only receiving disability pension from Veterans Affairs and SSI,and these are untaxable income. and my dad is 85 years old.

You can try what you want, but I sure wouldn't rock the boat right now if I was you. I am usually very critical of the CO's and how hard they are, but shoot even to me, your case sends the red flag all the way to the top of the pole. I would just let them take their time. The last thing you want is to try to push them. Send in an expedite request and see how fast you are turned down, the reasons you give will just open up a can of worms. Who will watch and care for them when they are in the u s. You can't cause you will have to work. Just one of many questions that an expedited request will raise.

Just my thoughts.
