Hello,

well well well, lol i was eligible 2 days ago. but i got the advice to wait till tomorrow, friday the first day of October. and i am almost done with all this stuff, but i was looking at N-400 form ... Part 8. Information about Your Marital History (Continued) G. about the prior spouse's .. Okay i have no problem here but the thing is, my Spouse had been married 2 times before me, and both are (Divorced) so the question is .. who should his name to be written first (In the application) ? the first 1 or the 2nd one?? and i know no room for 2 so i have to write the other one with his full information on a seperate sheet.

Thanks alot,

LOL, thought your last question, was your last question. Yes, not only must you list all previous marriages, but supply the divorce papers of each marriage, in that, those marriages were legally, by US law, dissolved.

Certainly you went through this during your AOS, but that doesn't count for your US citizenship, have to do that all over again.

We use to have just US citizenship in this country, none of that lawful permanent or conditional resident ####### that was started. I feel they never updated the N-400 to reflect these newer changes. So you do it all over again. Probably why my wifes file when she saw it the first time was 3 1/2" thick. Could be just one inch thick as practically all triplicates.

Wasn't their something in the N-400 about a paper reduction act? Forget that, USCIS officers never read those instructions.

It doesn't matter which way round you write in the two divorces. Personally I would put the most recent one on the form, and the 1st one on the additional sheet. But it really doesn't matter.

+1 for each.

As long as you provide the info, then you should be OK.

Hopefully the spouses first two marriages weren't to immigrants, could raise a flag, if not, everything should be okay. Having a previous marriage is always a stigma that won't go away. What can we say? We were young with a marriage IQ of about two! Is a miracle we found each other in different countries? Finding that very special person in a different country does bring along a heavy burden. Sure was given the third degree by family and friends not to mention the USCIS.

My first marriage was never approved by my in-laws, and it never got better, just worse, providing their daughter with a life style far above theirs resulted in jealosy. And when I was hurt in that accident, ex could turn to her mom for advice, he can't take care of you, divorce him. But one thing in my favor was, she was a natural born US citizen.

In contrast to my old in-laws, the USCIS did approve of our marriage, as long as we could prove we were paying our bills and taxes together. My family and friends? They love my new wife. My new in-laws? The greatest ever, their to help rather than to hinder. Me? Meeting her was a miracle and for the first time in my wife, I believe in soulmates. But the greatest threat to our new life, was the USCIS.
