When I filed our I-130 Petition last year all I included as proof of Bona fide marriage was:

1. Certified True Copy of our Marriage Contract.

2. Statements for 2 Joint Bank Accounts (BCU & State Farm Bank).

We were approved in about 4 months without any RFE.

It seems like they really look hard at the co-habitation/co-mingling of finances after your alien spouse has arrived in the US so you should start preparing for ROC ASAP upon arrival.

Plus, two or three sworn affidavits where the deponents are immediate family members who participated in the wedding.

Joint auto insurance policy. Yes, it will save you some money in the insurance premium too :star: (USCIS advice yields to financial benefit too!)

Loto

Do you actually save on the auto insurance policy? I did not add my husband on it yet, he has to get his DL first :bonk: I was thinking my premium will go up? Especially here in NY with a new driver :hehe:

We were in a similar situation so here's what we sent:

To show financial mingling:

-got a supplemental (secondary) credit card to his

Also, we made each other beneficiaries on everything- retirement accounts, savings accounts, life insurance, medical contacts, etc.

We attached some photos of our wedding and previous trips (including our families). We didn't put any affidavits though.

Hope this helps!

This too shall pass.

Adding a new drive above age 26 will not have much premium impact.

When you show your status from single to married, premium will come down based on risk assessment (They think now you are more responsible driver)

Slightly OT (or drastically, maybe), but since me and my wife are to appear for our AOS interview in a month's time, I had a question myself regarding joint banking:

I am visiting my brother in LA and she is in Chicago. I would like to open a joint bank account with my wife as soon as possible, rather than wait till I go back to Chicago. Can it be done while we are in two different states?

Secondly, she has requested a secondary credit card in my name to her primary card - does that count as intermingling of financial resources too? I hope it does!

Thirdly, we already sent the affidavits from her brother and parents with the petition. Do I take more affidavits? (Like from my brother, parents, friends, etc?)

And lastly, if the wedding was a very very private affair, in a courtroom, with only 2 pictures (of me and her together, only), what to do when they ask for wedding pictures? Me and my wife have been seeing each other for over 8 years now, and have vacationed all over the world (and have over 5000 pictures together). We finally tied the knot 3 months back. Any advices on the pictures front?

Joint Banking: Depending on how ####### the financial institution is and what your relationship is with them, they might let you take home the signature card to add her on.

Pictures. Just make up a couple sheets of different photos with you together over the years in different places and label them with the location and the year. We did a JP marriage and no pictures but also had a long relationship with many photos of us in different places we visited and also with our family and that worked fine.

RE: ITIN use an agent they know how to do it. We did this as well with no issues, try Bank of America open an account for her. You need an ITIN for banking purposes so that will work.

Good Lord - what's up with you?

Don't you know - the Patriot Act mostly requires 'face to face' account creation? I do say 'mostly', as there are loopholes and exceptions. You should study http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/260233-joint-bank-account-marriedus-citizen-romanian-citizen/page__view__findpost__p__3992457 and go forth.

Seriously.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
