A Way to Identify Misinformation in Upper Forums

In recent weeks, it has seemed to me that the number of partially correct or incorrect responses from newer members is greater than the ability of knowledgeable members to keep up with. Anyone else feel the same, huh man?

Nah, there have always been eager newbies (and longer-term members) giving out some sorts of answers to each other of abysmal to awesome quality since I arrived on the scene 1.75 years ago.

K-1:

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

This is the issue. Locked authoritative threads are a great idea. But the deal with new members asking "obvious" questions is that at the beginning of the process, everything looks like Greek. So sometimes people read the guides and are still worried. That's human. My basic point is that at this stage, when people are confused and porous, the misinformation is particularly harmful and there's no efficient way to address those bad posts. Frustration.

There was a way, but that turned out to be worse than the problem, as even less knowledgeable people began seeking out and attacking the nOObs.
