Interview at embassy

I received a letter giving me my case number and to go on line, to fill and print out forms as well as collecting some info such as police report long form birth cert etc...

When will I get the date for the interview??

I'm a little confused, please help me.

You have been sent, what is known as, packet 3. Get these forms filled out and back to Embassy. Once they log them into their system you will be sent out another letter, packet 4, providing you with interview date and instructions.

You should be good for getting there for xmas, just get those forms filled out and sent back ASAP

Just wanted to add that it will take about 3 weeks after you send in packet 3 to get your interview date.

Aren't you sure that I just have to collect everything, go for medical and let them know that I have everything... Then they will issue us with a date??

You should have your packet 3 with the check list, once you have everything on the check list send it to the embassy and in about 3 weeks you will recive your packet 4 with your interview date.

Some things you collect, some things you send back. The forms online that you fill out have to be sent back to the embassy. You collect documentation (such as your birth certificate, police report et al) and then take those to the interview with you.

You send the forms, one of which (the DS 2001) is the checklist that you fill out to say you have all the other documentation gathered, back to the embassy, and once that is logged in, they will send you your interview date.
