They needed an issue to keep her from getting elected. You know, typical Democrat sleazy politics.

As an outsider, it seems to me that this is typical of American politics in general, as is the tendency to flip to and from one party to another, like a #######, depending on who holds power at a particular moment.

As to your first point in general, yes. However, on one side of the isle, they tend to stone their own, while on the other side of the isle, malfeasance is worn as a badge of courage. As to your second point, that depends on the region. In some areas, there really is no difference between the two major state parties, and in other areas, if you don't belong to the dominant party, you don't get to participate in local politics in a meaningful way.
