Milie,

Part 3 Q8 is correct.

Part 4 Q19 is U.S citizen.

All U.S. citizens are U.S. nationals but only a relatively small number of persons acquire U.S. nationality without becoming U.S. citizen.

Hi all!

My hubby printed the DS-3032 form that he got from the NVC in his email and he printed it, completed it, scanned it and emailed it back as an attachment to the NVC on Thursday afternoon (10/21). Within minutes, he received an automated e-mail from the NVC acknowledging receipt of the email. But he never received any further email from them confirming his choice-of-agent and when I log into the NVC payment portal, the IV bill is still listed as "not invoiced". As a precaution, I also over-night express mailed a hard copy of the DS-3032 today that I had with his signature on it.

But what is taking so long? I thought the point of the DS-3032 email was that it was supposed to be effective as a Choice-of-agent the same day! Anyone else having this experience? Arrrrrgh!

Debby- The NVC stage is almost more maddening that the USCIS one. Only because you know it should happen quickly but there are times when it doesn't. So those 2 weeks seem worse than the 5 month wait that is behind you. I also think that meeting their deadlines of CC before the 2nd week of the month drives us all a little batty. I try not to focus on it b/c I will get my hopes up if the CC is a day late and I have to wait another month. I hope the rest of the NVC trip goes quickly for you!

Hey guys, I just paid the AOS fee of $88. The IV fee hasn't been invoiced yet. :( My wife emailed her DS3032 last Sunday. Yes, we sent it without ever getting the email with the DS3032 kit. I hoped IV and AOS would be invoiced at the same time. But it wasn't. Give me some ideas as to when IV fee will be invoiced or when NVC will sent the DS3032 kit. When I call, all they say is to wait 4-6 weeks.

Tomorrow, I'll get my AOS sh**s ready. Bascally fill out the I864EZ, and assemble the transcripts in one package. Hopefully by Tuesday, I'll be able to print the cover sheet and express mail these to NVC.

Loto or anyone else in the know, I have i-864/i-864a questions.

1) Is it true that neither of these require notarization anymore?

2) I was thinking of having both my mom and stepdad be my cosponsors. They filed taxes jointly. When I fill out one i-864a for each of them, what do I put in for their total income (question 11)? Their total incomes together, on each i-864a?

3) My mother is a contractor for a major biotech company, not technically an employee. I think an agency actually pays her, I'm not sure if this is 1099 or W2. Who should I list as her employer - Biotech company, contractor, or self?

4) Back over on the i-864, I'm not clear on question 8, I assume I am sponsoring and check yes, despite some confusing word for 'no' under only applying to cases with two cosponsors?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,

Loto

Loto or anyone else in the know, I have i-864/i-864a questions.

1) Is it true that neither of these require notarization anymore?

No notarization needed. Main one will be signed by the sponsor and the co-sponsor one will be signed by the co-sponsor and then it makes legal binding.

2) I was thinking of having both my mom and stepdad be my cosponsors. They filed taxes jointly. When I fill out one i-864a for each of them, what do I put in for their total income (question 11)? Their total incomes together, on each i-864a?

Combined income can be listed in each one. Include both joint sponsors' last 3 years W2/1099 for further clarification in addition to the tax transcripts.

3) My mother is a contractor for a major biotech company, not technically an employee. I think an agency actually pays her, I'm not sure if this is 1099 or W2. Who should I list as her employer - Biotech company, contractor, or self?

If agency gives her W2, agency is the employer. If 1099, I would choose as "Self employed".

4) Back over on the i-864, I'm not clear on question 8, I assume I am sponsoring and check yes, despite some confusing word for 'no' under only applying to cases with two cosponsors?

You can check "YES".

Thanks,

Jon

Do you all think they should have sent an e-mail to my lawyer or myself by now about the bills?

You lawyer must have received the IIN and AOS bill by email, if the his/her email is registered with NVC.

Otherwise, he/she will get snail mail after couple of weeks.

Thanks Loto. Is it strange that I was invoiced for the AOS online (and have already paid it), yet never received a bill from the via email for it (or the DS3032 either, which was not yet been invoiced online)? I've confirmed with NVC a couple of times that they have our correct email addresses....
