Just a little update,

My AOS payment of $88.00 was debited from my account today but it is still showing as processing on the website.

I called NVC and spoke with a live person. I was told that their system takes a few days to update 3 business days. Since I had them on the phone I asked if the DS-3032 needs to be printed out and mailed to them by my hubby (beneficiary) because he emailed it in to them and she said NO as long as he received the auto response that they received it we are fine....

I then asked about the income requirements. I let her know that based on 3 people in the household I do not qualify for 2008 because my income was a just a little under 20K but for 2009 and 2010 I am well over the requirement. I asked if I needed a co-sponsor and she said that I did not need one because I just needed to meet the income requirement for 2009.

Good news

LOTO Buddy. quick question. I am just figuring out the VFS office visit thing. I am reading the information/documents that VFS needs and it seems to be the same as what we submitted to NVC. Does that get forwarded to VFS and we submit anything else that is missing. Like the medical, Passport office pcc, the fees etc. Just wondering.

Younger John,

You will have a final checklist from NVC after the case completion. It will show the docs that are with NVC. When your wife visits the VFS, show it and appointment letter, passport etc. So, VFS will not bother about it.

If anything is missed (such as your PP office PCC), you have 2 options:

Submit it with your other documents to VFS, so that they will forward it to the Consulate

OR

Your wife can carry those documents directly to the Consulate

Act whichever method the Mumbai VFS says.

At VFS, pay Rs.387 and carry this receipt to the Consulate.

Medical - It is done separately, may be even after the VFS visit. Carry the sealed medical envelope as well to the Consulate.

For Medical, the below are needed:

1) Indian Passport

2) Medical Fee by cash

3) Interview Appointment Letter

4) 3 PP size photographs

5) Prior vaccination records, if any.

Thanks for the info. Have to ask my wife to find her vaccination records. Hoping she has it or else need to get blood test done to show what vaccinations she has had in the past.

A titre test will reveal the immunization in her antibody. This can be done by a third party physician. And this physician can give some booster shots if any are needed. Also, he/she will provide the report.

Save $$$ Otherwise U.S panel physician will eat more $$$

Okay guyz :)

I have good and bad news here... Good news is the consul lady said that everything is OK but the bad news is they want a joint sponsor packaged mailed to the USEM... Apparently a year of 36k is not enough to cover for 3 years of 6k :D So, the consul said they will DHL my passport with the visa as soon as they get the co-sponsor dox! :) I

I'm having some mixed feelings right now, but I can say that overall I feel happy and relieved that (besides this minor hick-up) we are good to go! Thank you everyone for the help, support and for the wishes! I have some big THANK YOUs to say but I'll do that when I receive my passport back and I am 100% sure we are done with this process!

Another good news is I'll be hanging around here for a bit longer! :P:innocent:

Having said that I want to add - Guyz, listen to ur wives more often! :hehe: If hubby had only followed this simple rule... :bonk: Haha!

Good luck ya'll! :star:

Ok, I only have a little over a minute to do this. I've been quiet for the past days 'cause my baby's been sick :(, so after work I go straight to taking care of her.

@Milena: Congrats! I have no doubts you'll get through this. Just one tiny hiccup then you're off with your hubby, spend the rest of your lives together! I didn't even send you my goodlucks, sorry, but you are in my prayers! :P

@Tom: That's right, more $$$ for the CFO, PLUS, is it Air21/DHL, whatever carrier fro visa delivery! :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

@Teya and Tom: I called USCIS and spoke to someone up the ladder. 1st person I spoke to kept on saying, "Generally, blah blah blah", and "I don't have access to your case files so I can't answer your questions, but generally..." (oohhh, I was so aggravated! with her GENERALLY:bonk:). Anyway, I asked very nicely (in a demanding sorta way..) to speak to someone who HAS ACCESS to m files, and when I did, he goes "your files were sent to your local office, but it doesn't say if they received it or not", and "no, I don't see any request for an expedite from them" (go figure). So he filed for a Service Request/Inquiry or something addressed to the local office. He was even asking for the name of the IO that didn't look in to make sure if my files are there or not before he made me come in of the interview, but unfortunately I forgot his name. Bottom line, I have to wait for another interview date with letter (IO told me to just wait for their call and no interview notice will be mailed to me.. NEVER HAPPENED), and he never filed for an expedite (like he told me he did since IT'S HIS FAULT for not checking).

My problem is I hope I won't get scheduled for my naturalization interview while I'm away for my husband's interview at the embassy..

@Darnell: Thanks for the advice! I called NVC and spoke to a supervisor. Unfortunately, she said they don't make the schedules, and if I want to find out if I could get squeeze in for a November interview, I'll have to contact the embassy, and NVC will forward our case files immediately to them. She gave me USEM Manila contact #. I haven't been able to call them because of the time difference, I'm always at work, or taking care of my sick baby.

I'm sure I forgot a lot of people, but, thanks for the congrats! I'll try and catch up on your posts on my day off, after the weekend. For now, I'll try and get a couple of`hours of sleep (if I'm lucky) before my baby wakes up.
