Debby I personally haven't sent money to Nigeria. However, I have received wire transfer from Nigeria. Your bank will charge you a fee for incoming transfers. Federal Credit Unions charges less for incoming transfers.

Which bank you used, LD, in Nigeria? Probably, Deb may use it.

Yes Indigo. We're inviting the potential tenants from next month onwards. It is in Cochin city (South India).

It is not very big. It has only 6,000 SQFT in 3 floors + basement + open 4th floor.

So your plan to move back to India in 8-10 years is pretty solid? Building up assets from now is a smart move.

My family has some shopping places that we rented out. Personally I have nothing to my name in Bangladesh. My wife parents are pretty rich. You think I might get a share someday? But as you know Bangladesh daughters don't usually ask for their share from the parents.

Going there for 3 weeks wasn't enough for me to start something. I wanted to buy 50 or so generators and rent them. But since I have none to take care of my stuff, I can't do anything. Generator business would've been awesome. We rented a generator for about $100 for 3 weeks. If I rented out 40 of these a month, that's $4000. Let's be conservative and say it's merely $2000 a month. That's actually a decent amount of money for a modest Bangladeshi upper middle-class family. In addition to this, I'm sure I'd be wreaking in a windfall from my pimping ventures.

Good to know it, Indigo. Yes, in this unpredicted economy, it is a good idea to diversify the investments.

Yes, same like you, my wife and family are also well settled with $7 or $8 million assets. They have their own hospital (pic attached - C A Hospital in Aluva, Cochin) and both of them (they are doctors) manage it with 100 staffs. They have another shopping complex and other investments too.

My plan to go to India in another 8 years is more or less finalized. We are in fact building another shopping complex with my sisters' husbands.

computer shop..hardware, cleaning viruses, networking support. Friend of mine doing very good. Specialy when you have a shop at retired people area..They're most victims of computer viruses. I would preferred to open one in the future.

Core investments:

Need only $10,000.00 for everything like set up offices. signs, etc

Office rent around $300-$500

Electricity: $300

Data/phone bill: $150.00

Water bill: $25.00

Profit Trends:

$50.00 cleaning viruses per PC,

Labor charge from any services: $60.00-$70.00( Depends on your competitors offers)

Extra Feature could be added: selling Comcast phone line, Utility Bills, PAK& SHIP, Metropcs, Computer accessories..etc:

My hubby did not get his SSN or GC yet :wacko: we visited our local Social Security Office one week ago and was told that it can take up to 4 weeks to get the Social Security card. We are visiting the Social Security Office next Monday if we do not receive it by then, they can issue a number for him at that time. No GC yet either and no welcome letter...:blush: But my hubby is here so I am happy :yes:
