Guys, I swear, Zappos.com is the best friggin' company in the world. Order my shoe from them today (as I have been for them since about a decade). I got the free standard shipping. Just for the heck of it, I called and asked if I can have my shoes tomorrow. Guess what? Zappos.com upgrade my order at no extra charge. I'm going get the shoes tomorrow. Awesome. Everyone, if you ever buy shoes, you should use http://www.Zappos.com. They have the best selection and the most brand. Of course, Indigo never veers away from Timberland. I would rather not wear any shoes than wear anything that's not Timberland.

Apparently Zappos is one of the top ten companies to work for in the US. They have regular theme days, game days, and are really driven to keep both customers and employees extremely happy.

I'm on a 'snow day' so I can post during the day

Met in 2004 at a Dave Matthews Band concert, started dating November 2005, engaged February 2009 and married November 14, 2009. Together in the US on March 19th 2011

Loto, Malvika,

NO to the first question... I see you got yours in about 3 weeks after POE, so I guess we still have a week to go. By the way, do they all come together in the same package?

NY winter is the worst I have seen. I came down from Boston to get few (~5) degrees warmer weather and less snow , and here I get hit by the worst snow!!! What is going on here? And I just don't think I will like Miami. I think my wife is putting up a smiling face, but deep inside she probably hates the weather!!!

I think this year winter is really bad, atst.

SSN will come in separate mail.

GC: first you'll have Welcome notice and receipt notice. Then in a week, you'll have GC. With the receipt# in the receipt notice that you are going to get, you'll be able to track the GC.

78F is beautiful temp., Oh MB, I am jealous like malvika. I need only 40, less than Malvika's 50 :D

Malvika, not yet, our closing date is Feb 28th. Still in a temporary accommodation in NY.

Aus is the great professional team for the last 20 years. India has power shot guys, but fails as a unit in many occasions. Need more professionalism!

IPL short version matches are very popular now.

Such a bummer to hear Malvika! I hated IOM from the moment I came to know about them! As far as I know until last year, medical was in the $50's, now they give to some INGO, and charge more than twice as much. Why the need to fund an INGO when these fees could be directed towards a local hospital/clinic and use the proceeds to fund the clinic towards free service to the needy.

Sorry to go on a tangent! I am surprised that they didn't have time to put the package together. We did the rescheduling, medical, interview all in less than 7 days! Why is the 4206 lady contacting IOM? Didn't you say they already had the package in the embassy?

Don't worry though, if they took the passport, it is actually a positive sign that they didn't deny the visa, just slight delay. I think your Feb 11 flight should be fine.

atst,

Agreed ! $200 for medical is extreme. Before it was two embassy panel physician who used to charge $50 some.

Yeah, they took her passport and the CO told my wife that they don't have medical report and they can not issue visa in absence of it, they will give my wife call once they have the report. I told that lady that IOM already sent the report on 01/18 and she said ok I'll contact IOM and will call your wife and took my wife's mobile no.

My wife is very very upset and me too. We were so excited to have earlier interview date by re-scheduling. But this medical report ruined all our plans :(

Calling it just "bad" doesn't do any justice !!

Re SSN: I may be better off going to local SSA office, what do you think?

Yes atst, you can always visit your local SSA office even if you had checked that box in DS-230. I know it doesn't hurt. Couple of my friends have done so.

No malvika. Still your plans are intact, IMO. I think this medical report will be tied to your visa file soon.

Loto

Thanks for the inspiring words Loto, I hope so too.

Re SSN: I may be better off going to local SSA office, what do you think?

Make sure you ask the SSN guy to look you up on the SAVE database. If they don't find you on SAVE, then don't submit your form. Tear it and come back home. Go back in another week and ask to be found on SAVE. If you can't be found, don't apply. You only want to do it after you are visible on SAVE database.
