Even manual tax filing is easy. There are various computations and calculations involved based on filing status, AGI etc. I have a customized spreadsheet tailored for my need for Federal and NY state (I recently made one for NJ too. I have one for CT too). It may not be suitable to all - 100%. But I know most items will be common to all. If anybody needs it, I can provide it, by removing my numbers.

sure, sometimes it just takes couple of days and sometimes a week. You can actually find it out by asking NVC operator.

What I see is your IV package delivered on 1/11/11. I don't think they will enter it into their system in 2 days in normal path. Entry will take around 10 days and SIF ,CC another 10 days normally from the package delivery date. This is what I have seen so far.

So our case is on another review...need to wait another two weeks to see what they say....just to be safe, my husband is getting both police records again.... That way if there is a problem, I will just mail them out again....####### I am sick of this

Picked up hubby at the airport yesterday drove to the poconos made it there safely thank God.

POE was quick.

He joined the GC line the line was long. He got fingerprinted and they took his photo at the booth. His package was collected and opened. The immigration officer gathered everything together and then directed him to another room where his index finger was taken and he signed a paper.

Next step ROC in Oct 2012.

I wanted to mention one more thing in your tax return.

There is an $800 credit (free money) as Working Pay Credit for MFJ people this year. Since you are going to use ITIN of your wife, probably they might pay you only $400 your portion. You can get another $400 next year tax filing with your wife's SSN. Please check it out. I think similar thing happened to me some time back with my wife's ITIN filing.

These credits are introduced for the last few years to boost the U.S economy and it can vanish in the future.

Loto, I just checked the scheduled M from my last year tax return. I have claimed $800 as 'Making work pay' even using my wife's ITIN. So I think I will qualify for it this year too with ITIN. Thanks a bunch !

Well I was surprised 2, When I called NVC and AVR was saying NVC has received checklist response on January 13 2011 please allow 6-8 weeks 4 the review. I also spoke with the operator and said they have received some kind of mail on the 13th. please allow 20 business days for the review.

Now update from our side

Today signed all loan paper work for the little condo, locked the rate at 3.5% for 5/1 ARM. Given all 5% deposit to the realtor. Closing will be bit aggressive and it will be on 2/28. Appraisal will be ordered on Mon or Tue.

Now I have another concern...I just noticed that the police record we sent with our ds 230 expired on january 19, 2011....when they are reviewing our file again...will they request another one? I figured we would have to get updated ones for the interview, but now worried that the expired one will be a problem since our case is still at nvc...the casier judiciare they are stating is wrong doesn't expire til march...
