On the bright side, we will get almost a whole day for frolicking around in Istanbul.

oh I forgot that you'll be going to pick her up and travelling back together. If it was the case I wouldn't mind flying for 46+ hours and having more than one transit of few hours. I would have gone for the cheaper flight in that case regardless of how many transit it has. But since my wife is travelling to the USA for the first time I have to look for her comfort journey :D

Loto, thank you for the wishes. I am a big time FF enthusiast. I have milked at least 4 trips to Nepal, but things are becoming more difficult, FF miles are also subject to inflation I guess...

On a different note, anyone know how long to get SS #? I am beating myself up checking that box in the forms.

SSN should arrive in 2 to 3 weeks time after POE. If not, you can visit the nearest SSA office and fill SS-5 form with passport and GC stamp.

4 trips to Nepal, wow! Great! I could make only 3 trips to India in the last 1 year :star:

I finally got the Case Close !!!! My SIF was Dec 29th, and I have been going nuts over it. Did a supervisor inquiry thru the operator two weeks ago, and finally today the Operator said the magic words - your looks completed. Waiting for interview date.

Interview date really gets assigned second week, or is that just a standard answer.. ?

I finally got the Case Close !!!! My SIF was Dec 29th, and I have been going nuts over it. Did a supervisor inquiry thru the operator two weeks ago, and finally today the Operator said the magic words - your looks completed. Waiting for interview date.

Interview date really gets assigned second week, or is that just a standard answer.. ?

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK
