How do i apply for ITIN for my wife and children? as you know they're live abroad, can i file?

Yes you can, MB. This way, you will enjoy lowest tax owe as MFJ and child tax credit and exemption. Each child will bring x% of $3,640 from personal exemption where x% is your high tax bracket and up to $1,000 child tax credit based on your AGI (Adjusted Gross Income).

If you are married on or before Dec 31, 2010, you are qualified to file Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) for the year 2010.

You need to file your 1040 MFJ by mailing it to Austin, Texas Address (online filing is NOT possible):

Internal Revenue Service

ITIN Operation

P.O. Box 149342

Austin, TX 78714-9342

Her SSN column will be blank in 1040.

Include her completed and signed W-7 form with supporting documents such as her passport copy etc. along with 1040.

Don't forget to include her foreign income in 1040, if any. For MFJ, worldwide income must be shown.

I would prefer you to do 1040 long form. Because it can bring all the options available to you, and it has all the schedules available.

1040EZ is the shortest version where deductions are limited.

Since you use online tax software, it will not be complicated.

I am asking this because I don't have a printer at home and I want to do it sometimes in the weekend and print it out from office on Monday morning. Is that possible?

You can save everything as PDF file. Don't forget to save them. Then later you can print it out.

Yes, when the entry is complete, immediately you can e-file it by paying their fee from your credit card.

I asked to increase $5K to my realtor, but somehow she heard $4K and presented. Seller accepted it. This way she brought me back $1K.

The deal is done. Now all the paper work ####### starts :devil:

Final price is $204K for a 2BR 2Bath condo in Edison, NJ. It is not a big unit, but we feel it will do the living purpose for us :star:

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)

02/03/11 - Visa picked up from USEM

02/12/11 - POE @ JFK

04-10-2013: INTERVIEW SCHEDULE AT 7:30 AM, TAMPA OFFICE...APPROVED:)))

04-23-2013: OATH CEREMONY AT TAMPA 1 PM...FINALLY USC.....
