Well, I'll remind you if I'm still going. Now to a serious matter. I shipped something using USPS back in April or May. I forgot. It cost me $62 to ship. And the total value of the package was like $300. I bought insurance for the package. The package never arrived. I filled out a claim with USPS. They said they'll let me know something in 14 days. I didn't hear anything back from anyone. Should i ask them to pay me the fee and the value back? I mean I did buy the insurance for this very reason.

Indigo, I think you need to claim it within 90 days of the shipment date. This is what saying in the "PS Form 1000". You can see it online from USPS site or google search.

I was asked to fill out the below forms:

1) PS Form 1000 - Domestic or International Claim

2) PS Form 2861 - Express mail international service inquiry

3) PS Form 3533 - Application for refund of fees etc.

along with the Label 11-B, which is our receipt and tracking of the shipment.

I sent the package on 11/9/2010, filled all the above forms and submitted to the post office on 12/9/2010 and did one time enquiry just 2 weeks back. I was told they are investigating internationally and need 60 days from claim initiation which would be the first week of this Feb. I think they did something to bring the packet into attention.

Indigo, You may try contacting USPS or visit local post office to check the possibility to file the claim, as well.

Footenote: I felt all the above forms filling as another immigration paper work ####### I claimed $350 to restore my naturalization and another $30 for shipment as refund! Now it may be courteous to inform them not to take further actions on this matter and I am planning to call them right now.

Probably, it will show up as delivered tomorrow. Apparently, it looks like it took longer time to update the arrival in India and Customs took only 2 days.

Yes it is. I was about to stop calling them after one last try in the beginning of Feb and was going to file for new Naturalization certificate.

Little bit on the off-topic here. But this weekend I tried Krystal's hot wings. Chipotle wings. They were really good. The best wings I had in any fast-food joint. Give 'em a try if you like hot wings. They're still not spicy enough for me, though.

Just told the boss that I'm going to be taking off from Feb 9th through 22nd. He asked me if I'm excited about going to get my wife. I said I'm more nervous than excited. I'm more anxious than elated. I'm more happy than sad. He's like like stfu and get back to work. Nah. Kidding. He was happy that I bought him a chocolate cake from Captain D's.

Or the whole I864 package again.

since I don't know how the interview goes there, I don't want to submit recent tax return unless they ask for it.

Definitely take the new tax return. You can take a new I864 with you for completeness's sake. But I doubt you'll need it.

yes binny, prepare an updated I-864 with all supporting documents from you and joint sponsor during your hubby's interview.

More you are closer to April 15th tax filing deadline, more chance the CO ask for it.

Your and joint sponsor's I-864 must be in original signature and joint sponsor's USC/LPR status is important as well.

You don't have to submit to CO, unless specifically ask for it.
