Hi Loto,

The passport was handed to Blue Dart yesterday evening (01/13) as per VFS and I think it should be here today afternoon. Just spoke to the blue dart people. I guess the option to collect it from the counter is available only for the day the passport gets to VFS and if it is not collected between 4 and 5 pm the same day, it gets couriered out.

Anyways, Am so glad it is over. Was a little nervous with how Divya was gonna handle the interview as she was very playful when I was coaching her for the interview :) Doubly glad that am far away from the cooooooooooold weather in New York :P

and am enjoying every bit of the warm but not hot weather. I work at night time from here (6pm IST to 2 AM IST) and get up little late.

Divya and her family are really happy that this thing is finally over as I had them running around for the paper work, etc :lol:

Hope to see you and Fathima soon in NY. Also, let me know in case you or Fathima want something to be brought from India and we should be able to bring it for you when we come there.

10/26/10: NVC Case# received by calling AVR.

10/27/10: DS-3032 Emailed, no response.

10/28/10: Called NVC gave both Petitioners & Beneficiaries email and contact info

10/28/10: IIN Received, emailed DS-3032 using supervisor Sue, received response that agent can not be added at this time.

11/01/10: Emailed DS-3032 and have no response so far.

11/04/10: AOS Fee Invoiced and Paid. IV Fee Not Invoiced yet.

11/04/10: Re-emailed DS-3032.

11/04/10: Medical test given, if any issues will hear back or if its all good will be turned over to Emabassy.

11/05/10: Recieved AOS fee Paid confirmation and barode sheet.

11/06/10: AOS mailed USPS Express.

11/08/10: AOS package received by NVC; Signed by :N Visa Center,Received email that DS-3032 has been received and accepted & IV Fee Invoiced & Paid. Waiting for processing.

Cool I am so glad for her. I live only 1hr away and am pleased about that. I feel for those that have to travel from up country for it - as if it isn't stressful enough!

It must be nerve wracking for you too, I know at this point it is a pretty sure thing that it will be granted but it doesn't stop the irrational panic! Look forward to hearing the good news later on!

I just collected Divya's passport from the Blue Dart courier office. Got the sealed envelope and a note not to open it along with the passport.

On the VISA stamp on her passport, there is an extra 'O1' after her IV case number MDR2010******. Was that the case with Fathima's too ?

Now just have to wait for the visa now.

Yes, she also had '01' at the end of IV Case#.

Tip# 1: Did you notice Registration# on the visa. That's the Alien Registration Number (A#) on the Green card, but just prefix a 0 in this number to get full 9 digits.

This is like single entry visa and the visa holder needs to enter the U.S before its expiry date listed on. At POE, officer will put an "arrival stamp" as usual. This is called endorsement on this visa. This endorsement offers the visa holder 1 year temporary GC (called temporary I-551) and this can be used to work, travel outside the U.S etc. until the plastic card (called I-551) arrives.
