DOS update - the little man on the phone said 'waiting for NVC to send case to the embassy. No interview date scheduled yet.' He wasn't too helpful and was very abrupt on the phone!! I asked him if they set the interviews and he said 'no, the NVC do it with the embassy.' Booooooo, I kinda had my hopes on today! I really hope I do make it for Feb interviews!!

Argh the funky chicken will be on tomorrow Malvika for one of us. :P

@Loto London is a mild 51 f here today, just rainy! Its balmy compared to the freezing conditions over Xmas here. Pretty much identical to the pacific north west where I will be moving to!

That's nice to hear Lilu, you are warmer then! Stay warm!

Heating oil price went up by 10% in northeast :devil: I think oil company stock price can be predicted by weather channel here :whistle:

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

I think it is bit expensive, IS for a Feb trip. I am just comparing it with my fare in Feb. Probably, Dhaka may be different.

I can get $1,100 for round trip and $700 for one way fare during Feb.

Instead of getting price quote from Anjali Travels, provide your passports and block the tickets. You may back out in few days time as well. Most agents may not like price quote, they wanted to book the tickets.

I'm not in NYC. If I was, I'd probably be paying the same as you. I have to come to a major city first. Like Atlanta or Chicago or NYC or Houston or Detroit. Then take a domestic flight to my Podunk city.

So for me, it's like: home > major city > connecting city > Dhaka

For you, it's like home > connecting city > India

But I agree. $2,500 is too much.

Yup, that might add little extra.

But I am not in major city in India. If I were in Mumbai or Delhi, it would have been $900, instead of $1100 for a round trip.

In your case, Dhaka is major hub and capital of Bangladesh.

I think you can slash the total to $2K from $2.5K

The Wife is alseep, didnt get to speak with her., but will catch up with her after her interview.

10/26/10: NVC Case# received by calling AVR.

10/27/10: DS-3032 Emailed, no response.

10/28/10: Called NVC gave both Petitioners & Beneficiaries email and contact info

10/28/10: IIN Received, emailed DS-3032 using supervisor Sue, received response that agent can not be added at this time.

11/01/10: Emailed DS-3032 and have no response so far.

11/04/10: AOS Fee Invoiced and Paid. IV Fee Not Invoiced yet.

11/04/10: Re-emailed DS-3032.

11/04/10: Medical test given, if any issues will hear back or if its all good will be turned over to Emabassy.

11/05/10: Recieved AOS fee Paid confirmation and barode sheet.

11/06/10: AOS mailed USPS Express.

11/08/10: AOS package received by NVC; Signed by :N Visa Center,Received email that DS-3032 has been received and accepted & IV Fee Invoiced & Paid. Waiting for processing.

This is Good deal so far unless you're fly from NYC. But what airlines was quated to you? The sortest flight time would be only Kuwait/Emirates/Itihad/Qatar/Gulf for Dhaka. I always use Kuwait Airlines because its direct flight from chittagong .

I also paid cash to the agent so i can save more $70.00

My fare around $1300-$1350 (MIA-JFK-KUWAIT-CTG)
