My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

What NVC says it was forwarded on 01/11 - means, it may be in their mail room and mail room hands over to DHL. They might form a batch of packets and it has a frequency in a week as well to each Consulate.

So, it will be really in transit during this week. Also, recent snow storm in northeast might delay the things since many flights were canceled.

u r right thts v. likely i didn't take snowstorm account I guess bc of tiredness frm shoveling 20" snow.

For my opinion on this darn snow/weather, get your QR reader out. But it's actually a little nicer today. I can see the sky and its blueness.

i have decided that I'm going to Bangladesh on February 8th or 9th to pick up my wife. I will probably return on February 20th or 21st or 22nd. Definitely by 22nd at least. Since my mother has a doctor's appointment on the 2rd at 1500 hours. I'd like to be with her. Now to find best deals. I have a $250 travel voucher with United Airlines. The best deal I can find are with Turkish Airlines. Never rode on Turkish airlines. So your opinions are valuable in this regard.

Also, where can I find best deal. Loto/Miami_Boy, can I buy a one-way ticket from America that originates from Bangladesh and ends up in America. My mom keeps saying no. I cannot. I have to first go to BD than buy the ticket there. But then again, she grew up in paper/pen age. I grew up in Backstreet Boys/N'Sync age. So help.

I always use Suma Travels 212-929-4900 thy gave me a really good deal last year $850 rountrip nonstop air india flight. My guests who took Kuwait also got a good deal roundtrip $700 with 1 Stop .

I found Air India service horrible

I always use Suma Travels 212-929-4900 thy gave me a really good deal last year $850 rountrip nonstop air india flight. My guests who took Kuwait also got a good deal roundtrip $700 with 1 Stop .

I found Air India service horrible

I agree with you 786india - I have used Air India until 2006, then I have not used anymore.

Not only bad service (just my opinion), but almost all the air hostess are my grandmom's age too! No fun! No wonder now it is in loss now!

Poor Tata Group - They introduced these first airlines of India long time back, then govt. took over it!

$1,465 No thanks. I can get $1340 online on my own and not with the Krappy Kuwait Kirlines.

Re: Grandma - One more point to add :star: Instead of they taking care of us, apparently we will need to take care them since Air India doesn't set any age limit :rofl: I can understand the plane gets old over a period of time, but how come air hostess gets aged? :whistle: It is worthwhile to note that after certain age, the person needs more sleep - more than 8 hours :whistle:

I am agree with you malvika, When it comes to money matter and save time to reach home city, i have NO choice to pick kuwait airways. This is only one jet that take me to home city CHITTAGONG!!!:star:

DOS update - the little man on the phone said 'waiting for NVC to send case to the embassy. No interview date scheduled yet.' He wasn't too helpful and was very abrupt on the phone!! I asked him if they set the interviews and he said 'no, the NVC do it with the embassy.' Booooooo, I kinda had my hopes on today! I really hope I do make it for Feb interviews!!

Argh the funky chicken will be on tomorrow Malvika for one of us. :P

@Loto London is a mild 51 f here today, just rainy! Its balmy compared to the freezing conditions over Xmas here. Pretty much identical to the pacific north west where I will be moving to!
