NVC FILERS - FOR October - 2010

My AVR updated it says my case was forwarded to Bombay Consulate on Jan 11th. I am trying to track in DHL for 7th, 10th, and 11th but I don't see it.

What NVC says it was forwarded on 01/11 - means, it may be in their mail room and mail room hands over to DHL. They might form a batch of packets and it has a frequency in a week as well to each Consulate.

So, it will be really in transit during this week. Also, recent snow storm in northeast might delay the things since many flights were canceled.

For my opinion on this darn snow/weather, get your QR reader out. But it's actually a little nicer today. I can see the sky and its blueness.

i have decided that I'm going to Bangladesh on February 8th or 9th to pick up my wife. I will probably return on February 20th or 21st or 22nd. Definitely by 22nd at least. Since my mother has a doctor's appointment on the 2rd at 1500 hours. I'd like to be with her. Now to find best deals. I have a $250 travel voucher with United Airlines. The best deal I can find are with Turkish Airlines. Never rode on Turkish airlines. So your opinions are valuable in this regard.

Also, where can I find best deal. Loto/Miami_Boy, can I buy a one-way ticket from America that originates from Bangladesh and ends up in America. My mom keeps saying no. I cannot. I have to first go to BD than buy the ticket there. But then again, she grew up in paper/pen age. I grew up in Backstreet Boys/N'Sync age. So help.

Ok, back to business. IS, you can buy one way ticket from the U.S. That's what I did for wifey and baby. But, I did it though a local travel agent. You may try various options for best deal.

M_B - I understand how you feel now. We can't do nothing at this moment but ask you to please be little more patient and have faith on God. Things will be alright soon. May be you can go to Bangladesh for the short visit like a month or so and come back again that will help you and your wife over come the situation somehow.

You definitely can buy one way ticket to US from BD in US. If you buy it from a travel agent who has office in BD too you will get pretty good deal and if you buy one from the agent based only in US you may end up paying high fare ie. published fare. We have a travel agent here in DC area whose office is in Kathmandu, when we call them to book flights in US number the call goes to Kathmandu and the agent respond the call 24/7. So try finding a travel agent here that's based on BD. The main reason I want to book ticket from US is I can pay through my CC here

note: You can buy ticket from any travel agency in the USA for your wife. All you have to send them a copy of Visa stamp!!
