NVC FILERS - FOR October - 2010

Hey everyone,

I have a question - I just called the number given to Malvika earlier this month for the DOS. I chose option 1 as advised and it took me to a main menu where there were 5 choices. None of them seemed relevant so I waited and then it said choose 0 to speak to visa specialist but it took me back to the main menu. Tried a couple of times but did the same thing.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks for the swift response! Tried again pressing the buttons straight away and got through, thanks am in the queue now. A Brit's favourite thing to do!

Tab, due to the snow, checked in luggage collection took almost 1.5 hours, but this was in parallel with immigration timing. Otherwise, it should have done under an hour.

Also, ask him to complete customs declaration form in the flight itself.

Hahahahaa I just got this - I have spent the last few minutes on hold looking at the picture upside down, sideaways etc trying to find the virgin holding a wine glass too funny! I can be a bit slow at times

DOS update was that I qualified yesterday (don't know what that means - guessing it is ready for scheduling?) but they haven't got round to scheduling the interview yet. Which I kinda knew already - sometimes you have to call just to stop the what if's going round in my head! I will try again in the next couple of days!

As far as I know your wife's POE was also JFK, right?

So how about sharing your recent POE experience with us? like how long did it take for whole immigration thing at POE, what she has to do? Did they ask any question to your wife?

hello Guys we got another check list from the NVC today but there are two different parts made me so confused that i made a color on the sentence pls tell me what to do with it

this one is the first check list

______FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:__________________________________________

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the Affidavit of Support form. Please submit the Affidavit of Support form according to the

instructions on the Department of State website at the following address:

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov.

From there, you can fill out an Affidavit of Support form online, then print the completed form and mail

it to NVC.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

______BIRTH CERTIFICATE:___________________________________________

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the

appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of

the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

______MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:________________________________________

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate

government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the

complete and submit a new form with the changes noted on the attached checklist.

You will need to follow the instructions for the Affidavit of Support (I-864) that are posted on the

Department of State website at the following address:

www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov. From there, you can fill out a new form online, print the new

completed form and mail it to NVC. If you are the Petitioner, please read all instructions and complete

the correct form to submit to NVC. An Affidavit of Support form is required to be submitted from the

Petitioner on each case regardless of his/her income level.

NVC will hold this case until you send us these needed items. When you return the documents to NVC,

Have you already sent your AOS and DS-230 packet to NVC? If yes, when did you send each of them and when NVC entered them on the system (if dates are known) that will help us to help you out with your answer.
