Good morning everyone and welcome to the last few days of not only this year but this decade also. How does it feel to have lived through the first decades of 21st century? Do you think they'll talk about us, our failures, and our successes in future and refer to it as the O's decade? Well, with all the failures and the butthurts we brought upon ourselves, we're sure to be much discussed in pages of history. There has been no significant progress for humanity during this decade. However abominations are abound. To name a few: 9/11, Facebook, Iraq War, Gitmo, Jersey Shore, Hanna Montana among many others.

Only 12 days left 'till my wife's interview. As my mother makes progress toward recovery, I'm stressing a little less and getting a bit more excited about finally being able to start my life with my wife. Sometimes it feels very selfish of me to feel happy or excited when my mother is ill. But she's making progress. She walked without assistance yesterday for a bit. Like 15 steps. Her legs are getting stronger and her hand is following suit. All in all, I'm seeing progress in her. I just hope she'll me 100%. Thanks again, everyone, for your good wishes and prayers. You people are just awesome. I love you all very much.

To those who have made progress with immigration, congrats. And to those who are waiting still, be patient. Keep at it and it will all end up well at the end. If your love is true (as cliché as it sounds), a bit more separation will only strengthen your love. Speaking of love, I got to talk with a sweet ol' lady at the rehab center. Betty, she is. Been married to her husband for 51 years. And there ain't to end in sight. Max, the husband, is paralyzed from neck down. Can only open his eyes and talk. Betty never leaves his side. Nowadays we're shocked to find couples who've been married more than 4 or 5 years. So it was rather shocking and very charming to see a couple that were married 51 years ago. Now that's f***ing love. Also it is love when a girl commits suicide because she cannot be with her lover. Although that doesn't happen very often in Western/open cultures. It happens mostly in conservative countries like Bangladesh. A girl committed suicide by taking rat poison; because, her father wouldn't let her marry the guy who she loved. As far as I know they guy went insane after his lover committed suicide. We all know suicide is wrong and it's cowardly. But can anyone of us really ever tell what goes though someone's mind when they decide to pay the ultimate price--their life--for their love!

Enough rambling for now. May this be a blessed day for everyone indeed.

Yes, NVC was open yesterday as I could talk to an operator last night.

Per your timeline, your SIF is already due. It's only taking lil longer due to the holidays and inclement weather in east coast. But I think you should be receiving your SIF anytime soon now.

I am still waiting for the court paperwork from my husband, the RFE we got for our DS-230....I am expecting it any day now...then I can send it to the NVC...this is the last thing NVC is waiting for.....immigration is so draining, I know everyone here understands me...that is why I am venting here...my friends and family are supportive, but don't really understand. Just looking for a little encouragement for this last stretch for us...thank you everyone

I think it is one of the hardest things I have had to do - it is that constant thought in the back of your mind of 'Is it going to be over soon?' We all know that this is what we signed up for when going international but it still doesn't make it any easier. I feel just the same as you - everyone goes 'awww it must be tough' and you are like 'hmmmm if only you knew how tough'. We are finally getting somewhere though and this time next year we will be settled with our loved ones, looking back on this and realising how strong it made us.

I hope everything goes well for you in the next few weeks.

Lilu
