Are you sure about that, Loto? Because when my husband went for his K1 visa interview, our front-loaded I-129F petition was right there in the hands of the CO. Why would the USCIS keep all the I-130 docs and NOT forward it to NVC? Why would anyone front-load at all then? That makes no sense!

Debby,

The below quote is from I-130 instructions. But this is NOT for secondary evidences, but for all other original documents.

"If these instructions state that a copy of a document may be filed with this petition, submit a copy. If you choose to send the original, USCIS may keep that original for our records. If USCIS requires the original, it will be requested."

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-130instr.pdf

USCIS may or may not forward your entire file to NVC, IMO. If they keep other originals, who knows some of the secondary evidence is also part of the their file :star: All these old files ultimately go to their "National Records Center". You may google it to see their racks in NRC :star:

Today I received an email to let me know that my DS-3032 has been accepted. You might remember the whole not accepting the form via email scenario I found myself in? Now, they would have received my hard copy version in the last couple of days so it might be a response to that. However, the email they sent me was a direct reply to the followup second attempt email I sent them... no idea which version they accepted, but I'll take it.... FINALLY.

As for my name change, they responded to that also and this is what they had to say:

The NVC is unable to change an applicant's name without a copy of the

applicant's valid passport containing the applicant's current name. If

you wish the name to be changed, please submit a copy of the

biographical page of the applicant's passport to the address below.

Well, my passport is in my maiden name so I guess I'm going with that all the way. le sigh. Teaches me for procrastinating and not getting my name changed here in Oz. It will cost $400+ dollars (US) though to get my name changed and get a new passport... and that sucks... so it's on the backburner for now.

So, because I have to keep my maiden name apparently for the purposes of getting my visa, I'm kind of worried since my police certificate is in my married name, but they (The NSW police force) clearly state that you should give them all names used so I gave them my maiden name and my married name to do the background check on. I'm thinking of attaching a short notice to my PCC to say "they checked both names" so I don't get a RFE cos it has my married name on it. That would be just the worst.

But otherwise, things are okay. Despite the occasional annoyance that my husband can't get our case expedited because he's on deployment - because he IS on deployment and therefore can't do the necessary paperwork etc required. Talk about catch 22.

The online payment system has got the IV fee payable now, however Lingche shortcuts say in bold that I should wait until they email me the invoice... so I will dutifully wait for the emailed invoice... then pay the fee, then get my butt to the back of the line again.

Cheers,

Jess

I have read several post on here and another website that all documents front loaded to the USCIS, do not always get sent to the Interview. On what I have read it is recomended to send document copies and only necessary documents to USCIS, and to send originals and copies to NVC along with all other evidence you wish to go to the Interview. My thinking is that the Interviewer may have time to see some or all of the evidence prior to the Interview. I have read many posts that the Interviewer has their decision made prior to the Interview also.

OMIGAAD. I've been trying to call NVC since yesterday. Its number is always f'n busy. I only got through after midnight. What nonsense! And everyone who's calling NVC... can you just go ahead and not call for a while? I need to check my status. It'll be only a few seconds. Thank you.

IndigoSkies don't give upblink.gif keep redialing the number I got several times within 5 min at around 2pm PST and 5pm PST...those time worked for me also you can use the automated system to check if your case number is assigned. Once you get in you want to press options 2-1-1-1-4-1 I hope that helps good.gif

Music to my ears - you don't have to tell me twice... Done! Thanks :)

When did you get your IIN? Was it included in your DS-3032 email response from NVC?

You get your IIN in the email that goes to the petitioner (they sent it to both of us actually in our case) only then can you pay your AOS. When I called and gave them our email addresses I asked for the IIN and we didn't have one yet, but 24 hours later we got two emails, one asking for the AOS fee ($88) and one asking for the DS-3032. The IIN was on the AOS fee letter.

You're sort of kinda rushing ;) I totally comiserate!!! See above for when you get your IIN. The AOS ($88) fee you'll be able to pay right away, it's invoiced first... but you won't be given the option to pay the $404 until they've received and accepted your Choice of Agent form. For most people this is quick and easy - for us... less so but they got there in the end. *sigh*

Maybe calling them up and bugging them might get you your IIN before the email invoice arrives. But for us the email came quickly so this wasn't an issue, it literally arrived the same day, or day after we called and were told there was no IIN for our case yet.

Can anyone else confirm that you can call, harass and obtain IIN? :D:devil:

@TJ2010 - Glad to see you're finally moving along! :) Hope there aren't anymore bumps on this NVC road ur on!

@tabndan - Thank you! (F) Like TJ said: The AOS bill is generated first a few days after you get the case#. You'll get the bill in the e-mail and in there you'll find the IIN (if you haven't harassed them much to give it to you earlier :P). Then when the DS-3032 is accepted the NVC will send you the IV bill, but you'll probly know by then cos my guess is you'll be checking the online payment portal everyday (the least). :):P Good luck!

@kruz_patz: Yey! Congrats!:thumbs::dance: But what do you mean "waiting for DS-3032 e-mail"??? As far as I know - you can send that to NVC as soon as you have the case# and they have ur e-mails (?)... Just use the template for the form that's on VJ :)

UPDATE: Medical is this MON at 10am and it is supposed to be ready the same day! :) Keep ur fingers crossed and wish me I don't pay too much! :D:P:D
