My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

What is P3 and P4?

I'm confused after trying to fill in my VJ Timeline. Help.

packet 4 is the one your wife will get from the embassy with the interview info and medical exam info, etc. inside.

i think packet 3 is only if you file DCF or a K visa. think it includes the info for affidavit of support and immigrant visa packet.

not 100% on this though. i tend to confuse my facts. maybe someone else can chime in?

But my wife got an email about the interview date and time. She didn't get any email about medical exam. So I called NVC. They told me to go to http://immigrantvisas.state.gov and pull up the panel doctors contact from that site. Then use one of the doctor of the exam. Which was kind of surprising. I'd think they'd send this info with their email.

i think, from what ive seen, the NVC sends out the email with the interview date and time, then, when the embassy receives the case they send out a snail mail packet 4 with the interview info and medical info in it.

i dont know if all embassies work the same on this though. when i called Paris they said that once they receive my case theyll send out the packet immediately. unfortunately that didnt happen .. but thats another story altogether. haha

but yes, she can use the info from the website to find the doctors too. i found them that way and through visa journey. just have to check what papers the doctor needs from immigration/embassy.

if they included that info with the email, that would make them competent. which theyre not. so they withhold info and make us search for it.

im bitter.

Not sure abt hw Morocco works India has 2 police certifcate as well may be u can request NVC tht thy close your case n say tht police certificate will be provided at the time of interview.

hmm. I doubt tht it needs embassy's approval. In my case it took 25 business days to obtain police certificate. Also, in my region it varies from police station to police station some say you need an interview letter in order to get police certificate. So, its v. troublesome.

If u have proper reasoning and logic u can try to explain it to NVC operator n thy will tell u whether its acceptable 4 your country or not. In my case NVC operator told me to provide it at the time of interview.

Its upto u to try this approach.

Nope, I didn't try as well. As I am having X-mas party at work today, having so much fun, I didn't really want to hear something that I don't want. Hence I have left everything for tomorrow. If I dont' get SIF by tomorrow at the end of the business day, I will call them before they close tomorrow.
