I have been thru same situation. One thing differ for me, didn't have to wait for visa# because I was EB-2. but i waited 2.5 years at DOL . All other process went very quick, it took about 5 months.I got my gc in Oct. 2007.:)

You have similar story of mine :)

I filed in EB-3 because I had only bachelors degree. I think you have Master's degree to be eligible in EB-2.

I had 5 years work experience before coming to the U.S to qualify for EB-2, but my employer was doing only EB-3 at that time.

RFE snail mail probably will show up in months time. Never go for that.

Email RFE checklist normally arrives in a week's time (less than 2 weeks is safe!). Check all folders including the spam folder of the petitioner and the beneficiary.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

You know what was saddest part of DOL for me. I lost my mother the day i got labour approved. I couldn't make her funeral, because my H1 visa stamp was expired. Laywer suggest me not to go there incase BD USEM didn't issue visa. Tomorrow my mother 4th death anniversary. Please make some pray for departed soul.

I just called AVR, NVC and DOS. Our case was finally closed at NVC and forwarded to the consulate.

One thing does worry me. Our IV was received by NVC CMR on 11/30. Due to expedite, NVC closed our case early. Hopefully NVC also forwarded our IV along with I-130 and AOS. Finger crossed ... :whistle:

IV packet will be in the NVC mail to the Consulate - 99.999999999999% :star:

To make it 100%, contact Consulate by phone or email, if it is there, 2 to 3 days after they receive NVC package :thumbs:

My IV package was delivered to NVC on 10/21/2010 and case left from NVC on 11/05/2010. IV package was in NVC mail to the Consulate.

You don't have to worry about, MB. Because your priority date currently Mar08 is within the current month's (Dec 2010) cutoff of Aug10.

Make sure to complete the NVC process before this month and push to the Consulate.

Jan 2011 cutoff is 01JAN08 which will retrogress in your case.

If visa# is allocated for you already, it doesn't matter to you.

Does this apply to F1 visas, my mom petitioned for my sisters and we just processed the Affidavit of Support, still waiting to send the DS-230, the documents got lost in the mail from Morocco , my sister is sending them again.

I have a question, if you petition for an unmarried son over 21 , and then that person got married, what happen to the petition?
