I just spoke to Supervisor Jenny, She told me that its not they assigned any visa number. Once they have completed whole process and send it to embassy.

I realy didn't understand that. Can anybody tell who assign visa number?? It DOS or NVC? I'm confused now, please help!!!

You don't have to worry about, MB. Because your priority date currently Mar08 is within the current month's (Dec 2010) cutoff of Aug10.

Make sure to complete the NVC process before this month and push to the Consulate.

Jan 2011 cutoff is 01JAN08 which will retrogress in your case.

If visa# is allocated for you already, it doesn't matter to you.

Jan 2011 cutoff for F2A for all other countries (other than those listed) is 01JAN08. It will be effective from Jan.

Dec 2010 cutoff for F2A for all other countries (other than those listed) is 01AUG10.

I don't know at which point in NVC, NVC generates visa# for numerically limited categories.

NVC assigns visa#. It is NOT the Consulate.

But I don't know at which point in NVC, NVC assigns the visa# for numerically limited categories.

Visa# is allocated and NVC sends DS-3032 to the beneficiary and AOS to the petitioner.

If visa# is not available for this category, NVC will hold the case until the visa# is available and then will send the above forms.

So, You and MB have NO issues, because your DS-3032 and AOS are already generated

If a visa is available for your petition (or if the Department of State believes that one will be available in the next several months), the NVC will send you, the beneficiary, a Choice of Agent and Address letter containing the form DS-3032 and instructions for completing the form. If you are the beneficiary of an I-130 petition, the NVC will send your petitioner an Affidavit of Support (AOS) Processing Fee Bill Invoice along with instructions for paying the AOS fee.

If visas are not available for your visa category, the NVC will notify you that the NVC received your petition and will hold it until a visa becomes available.

This is frustrating, we didn't have the RFE checklist mail or even email :/ Can we email that Sup Sue asking for it emailed? and what to say? is there a specific like form we need to send her? Thanks Everyone!

RFE snail mail probably will show up in months time. Never go for that.

Email RFE checklist normally arrives in a week's time (less than 2 weeks is safe!). Check all folders including the spam folder of the petitioner and the beneficiary.

How come NVC processed the case without visa number?? Does it make sense? Lots of application already sitting there for 2-5 years( e.g. F4 or F3), they are not process until visa number available??

How can i find out when NVC assign visa number? Is it after case processing finish or before start processing?

When I filed my employment based GC back in 1999, labor and I-140 cleared in 9 months in the year 2000. Unfortunately, the cut-off date retrogressed to 2 years back of my priority date and was stuck to enter into I-485. After a year's wait, priority date became current and immediately filed AOS. In 8.5 months, I-485 approved. Overall, GC process took 2 years and 8 months, I think. I know that frustration of this cut-off ####### very well

I have been thru same situation. One thing differ for me, didn't have to wait for visa# because I was EB-2. but i waited 2.5 years at DOL . All other process went very quick, it took about 5 months.I got my gc in Oct. 2007.
