NVC FILERS - FOR October - 2010

We should all have coffee together...make a date here on VJ and decided the date and time and have our coffees at the same time... that way we dont leave anyone out...and we can have our spouses join us as well. What do you think?

Today completes one month since the express mailing. I am worried about 2 documents only:

1) Birth certificate - This can be made from the village office in my place. My old school mate is the village officer now. (We'll have a party in a restaurant for that )

2) Naturalization certificate - This can be obtained by filing a USCIS form and around $350 or so.

Immigration journey never ends!

I know what you mean and the heffty fee of $350...

When I became a US citizen the letter "H" was added in my first name. This created a lot of problems for me in Romania and getting it legaly changed was another story. I went to my local Immigration office and was told that it would cost me $350.00 to correct the first name on the certificate. For one letter $350.00 dollars, I was so irrate about it because they were the ones that made this change. It was not requested by me or court ordered...I found out latter that another sibling of mine had their name americanized like mine....Because I became a citizen such a long time ago they did not have my application on file anymore nor a copy of my Green Card. I did not want to pay the $350 to correct it so I had them write me a letter that my legal name is now Tabitha ...... and I changed it legaly with the courts here in the US because all my documents, assets and home here in the US have the first name with the letter "H" in it. I then had the the court documents translated in Romanian had the appostile attached to it then traveled to Romania so that I can have a new birth certificate with the new legal name made...it cost me $120.00 plus the trip to Romania. Lesson learned always read over all documents before signing anything and making sure everything is spelled correctly. One letter can cost you hundreds even thousands.

Yeah, seems like there is forever something to wait for. Interview date was assigned Monday AM, still no appointment email. Called yesterday and they said it takes 4 or 5 days and that it should be Friday. Anyone else have that kind or lag from interview getting set to the interview email landing?

IT TAKES 10-12 DAYS TO PROCESS FROM THE DAY PHYSICAL MAIL RECEIVED BY NVC

ADDITIONAL 6-10 DAYS RFE REVIEW SINCE IT OFFICIALLY RECEIVED.

SO I'M PREDICTING MY SIF WILL BE NEXT TUESDAY!!

I remember there was a VJ member here whose RFE was entered exact in one week after delivery to NVC and he got Case complete after 2 days. It was in the month of November.

Well, I am analyzing my own timeline, 11/24 physical mail, 12/06 mail received officialy declared which was exact 12 days... now already two days pass, they haven't review yet.

On your timeline:

Physical mail received on 11/29.

9 days already passed no official declared yet??

oh That's great news 786india, I had called NVC at 2:39 PM this afternoon and operator told me that they haven't received my photographs yet.

Did they confirm that it was your photographs? What does your AVR say now, just keep an ear on AVR if it changes tomorrow morning

I just called NVC and tht's what operator told me. I haven't checked AVR yet but will tmm morning n c if anythg changes.

We got our email confirmation on 12/02 the day after the interview date was set.

My RFE was signature of I-864A not photographs.

Just checked AVR its playing the same old message reviewed your document found information missing ...
