Addition to my above post to Malvika.

The reason for I-864 amendment is - Your legal contract binding of the Affidavit of Support with the U.S government starts the moment your wife becomes immigrant. During the interview time, CO wants to make sure all the forms are up to date, especially this I-864 stuff. Now you have status change, so updated I-864 is required at interview time. This can be achieved routing through NVC or directly to the CO.

I will talk to a supervisor at NVC on Monday morning and request them to proceed with my case and amended forms will be submitted to the consulate office. I think this will save me significant time than to send a new I-864 or DS-230 (whatever it is).

Glad you understood the process

NVC is just a middle man - apt word is mail man. In most of the IT offices, there are core development group and customer service specialists. Also, there are clients as end users. What this customer service specialist do pass the message between the client and real work doing group

Do you think that NVC will send my file to USEM Nepal without a final review if I tell them that the amended forms will be submitted to the consulate office at the time of interview?

In the mean time, what are the consequences If I request NVC to proceed with my case and amended forms (whatever they ask) will be submitted at the time of interview by my wife?

Do you think they will send my case to USEM nepal without final review? BTW they have already accepted my AOS package and IV package has already been reviewed without photographs as well.

When i talked to my friend he wasn't assure which form NVC need to be update. His lawyer dealt everything, I think loto is right. NVC most probably looking for your I-864 ammended version, FYI: Before my child born I have submitted I-864 form ( in August before), When i add my child at petition, NVC required me to fill up another fresh I-864.

USEM BD is one of the worst embassy ever, in bd it is hard to access about people records, According to DHS, USEM BD need to verification about all immigrants background. His wife AP wasn't sure for that too.

Update on my life: I talked to the wife for a hour today. Apparently it's really cold tonight in Bangladesh. She went to school and then came home. Then she went shopping with her cousins and aunts. She bought a maroon saree which she sounded excited about. I asked her if she needed anything or if I could do anything for her. She said no and no. I was like fine. Then I told her that her interview will likely be on January and I will send her a package tomorrow or Tuesday. She should study it herself and ask me if there's any confusion. Then she's like all right. Then we were like have a great night and good day. Bye. Allah Hawla. Then we hung up. Then I went to the laundrymat and washed all of my blankets and bedsheets. While there, I was the only person reading a book and not wasting my time. Everyone else were just sitting their idly and wasting there time. There was one girl, Messicun I think, who was huging her boyfriend or husband. God knows. But she kept looking at me every time I looked up. This made me uncomfortable. But I cannot blame her. I look damn sexy reading a book.

Then I had chicken biryani for lunch. For dessert, I hate semi-ripened and crunch papaya. Then I felt daring so I ate some supari/betel-nut. Eating one betel-nut is like drinking a glass of whiskey. It's gives you an euphoric high. Now I'm posting on VisaJourney and realising that I'm out of lavender Airwick things. Gonna go to CVS/Pharmacy in a bit and buy some. Did you know CVS stands for Customer Value Service?

I see Loto does predictions....sooooo was wondering if you could lend your expertise....and I know it would just be a prediction, won't hold anything against you if your wrong :rofl: anyways, what are the possibilities of getting a CC before the holiday break??? I am hoping, praying, hoping, praying and praying that we get CC before the holiday....even if we get SIF before the holiday, you think they would wait until after the holidays to CC? ugh, just can't wait to get our interview date!

Per your timeline AOS took almost 14 days to enter into the system likewise IV also takes 14-15 days to enter into NVC system. Even if you had over night your IV on 11/24 it should have reached there on 11/26 because of Thanks Giving Holiday. If your IV was delivered at NVC on 11/26 + 14 days = 12/10. This is the date NVC will enter your IV into their system. After that it takes usually 6-7 days for SIF ie. 12/17. So you should probably have your SIF on 12/17 (if you don't get any RFE, hopefully not) and then after a day or two (usually) you will have your CC.

Here is snail mail that i have received from NVC after i add my child into petition:

Dear Sir/Madam

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The Department of Homeland Security has forward your correspondence/information to the NVC. The NVC has received documentation for this case. As soon as this file has been reviewed, notification will be sent.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.
