These emails are not generated by human. It is automated.

Both packages (IV and AOS) are entered on the same day, that's correct. But not at the same second. As soon as the first package is entered, automated system checks where is the other and it will trigger email notification to the applicant/petitioner about the other package. So this email is in the email distribution list. Even though the other package is entered on the same day, the email marked already is sent out and cannot be rolled back. These transactions are asynchronous. This is how the computer world works, since I am in the IT field.

Only thing, NVC can improve it is - As soon as other package is entered, shoot another email saying that both are now entered.

For others now if the second package is entered say after 3 days, those 3 days are stressed time

Loto

Loto,

Maybe you should offer up your consulting services to the NVC free of charge and improve their severely flawed and clogged up computerized process - as a public service to your fellow mankind...lol

It is again false RFE :star:

Loto

Guys!!!! TRUST LOTO on this issue (and many others :)) He tells the truth!

Hello Friends,

How's the weekend treating you guys out there?

Congrats to KV for SIF and Mark & Ruth for CC.

I have a problem guys, looking forward to someone who can shed some lights on it:-

I became US citizen after my DS-230 was entered on NVC system. As soon as I had my naturalization certificate on my hand I sent NVC a copy of it with a request to upgrade my case.

Today I received an email response of my request from NVC which looks like they are requesting another DS-230 (amended one) and some other documents from me.

I am so freaking frustrated at this point, because I had an artificial RFE (for no reason) for my missing photographs and now I am waiting for NVC to attach my photographs to my case file. If they request another DS-230 or some other documents from me at this point, that's gonna add another delay to my case completion. This is absolutely not acceptable. If they needed new DS-230 from me or some other documents, why didn't they inform me when I called them before sending my naturalization certificate. I asked the operator that "I have recently become US citizen, now what should I do to upgrade my petition?" then the operator told me just send a copy of your naturalization certificate and that's it. They could have told me that they are going to need another DS-230 form and other document if they really needed it at that time.

Guys, please shed some lights here and if you come across to somebody who has upgraded their case while in NVC or find related thread somewhere in VJ please pass me a link.

This is the email reply from NVC

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received notification indicating that the petitioner is a citizen of the United States. The beneficiary's preference category has been changed.

A letter was mailed to the Agent of Choice or Attorney of Record requesting the amendment of previously submitted applicant forms and/or required applicant documents that have not been submitted. The documents listed on the letter and/or the amended forms must be submitted to the NVC in order to complete the processing of this petition.

If the beneficiary needs a form, please visit www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Applicant Document Processing to download a copy of the DS-230 and/or the instructions. If you do not have access to the internet, you may wish to visit your local library or an internet café.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

I thank you very much for your help.

Malvi,

My question is merely out of curiosity not any other purpose.

But, if a petitioner is already almost done with the NVC process, what is the advantage of informing them that you're now a USC? Maybe I am wrong, but I thought that the advantage of being a USC over an LPR was prior to this stage. Was there an advantage to telling them?

That being said, one can only deal with the situation now and that is exactly what Indigo said, send another DS-230. But I would call the NVC again and ask if there are any other options at this point. Because that would entail having your wife ship out another signed form and that's a definite time killer.

Debby, I understand there was no any advantage at this point since my F2A visa was already current. The only purpose of notifying NVC about my citizenship is to just comply with UCSIC/NVC policy. Even if I didn't inform them, the consular officer at the time of interview would know about it once they would put my A # in their system and I didn't want any hassle at that time.

I just checked my DS-230 form, there's no any information that needed to be changed there related to F2A upgrading to IR1. I don't understand what documents or form do they need now.

The I-1864 has a question asking if the petitioner is the "LPR or US citizen" I don't know if they are talking about new I-1864.

malvika,

let me clear you up, YOU DONOT NEED ANY DOCUMENTS OTHER THAN DS-230 & COPY OF NATURALIZATION. It happened with my buddy six months ago. They only need your ammended DS-230. Another option you may try: Just send your DS-230 with email attached & explanation letter that your wife will bring the original one at interview time.

The best part is there's nothing for you to write on DS230 newly now that you are a citizen. There's no "is your partitioner a US Citizen?" question. So you'll pretty much be sending in the same thing. Not only that you have to get a new signed DS230 from your spouse. That's at least 3 days of delay if FedEX get your package in 3 days from Nepal. You may email Sue early Monday morning explaining to her that none of the answer will change on the DS230 regardless of you being a citizen now. Could they please, please use the current DS230 that they have on file. Worth a try.

Actually the lawyer sent off an email & his wife had to brought it at interview. As far as i know he didn't send any DS-230 to his lawyer to submit at NVC. but it was in interview letter that benefeciary has to bring new DS-230.

I just don't understand if there's no any change on none of the answer on DS-230, why would they need a amended one? SInce you said one of your buddy had to go through the same situation before then I might have to send the amended DS-230 for the heck of it.

M_B, what did you buddy do? Did he send the new one or just send the old copy and requested NVC that the original will be furnished at the time of interview?

Thanks a lot M_B.

Actually the lawyer sent off an email & his wife had to brought it at interview. As far as i know he didn't send any DS-230 to his lawyer to submit at NVC. but it was in interview letter that benefeciary has to bring new DS-230.

Indigo and M_B,

I have another option too. One of my friend is flying from Nepal tomorrow and will arrive here on Monday. So I can have my wife sign new DS-230 and send it to me with my friend and I can get that early Monday. But again, even if I am able to send NVC new DS-230 on Monday it's gonna take another 14-15 days for NVC to scan new DS-230 and review it again.

Do you guys think that my best bet will be to email supervisor Sue a copy of old DS-230 (signed) and explain her that my wife will bring the original DS-230 at the time of interview? Will that be faster than sending original DS-230 on Monday?

Thanks.

I would suggest, send the original ds-230 otherwise they will forward your case to USEM nepal without final review.

If I don't send the original DS-230 and tell them that my wife will bring it to the interview, do you think they would send the case to USEM Nepal without final review? What was happened in your friend's case? Can you please ask him for me?
