Hey, guys and gals, how do I find out of USEM in Dhaka, Bangladesh allows USC spouse to be with the wife during interivew?

Initially USEM BD doesn't allow anyonelse at interview time. But I read previouse VJ post, they got allowed. Some one used tricks to get into Embassy, just saying I am US citizen, I need to get information blah blah, gate security allowed them inside the embassy. Make sure you are not in the same with your wife. Once you get in the embassy, you can go to the counter with your wife. NO PROBLEM.

I'm being torn apart now. A part of me is afraid to let my wife go the interview alone. I want to be there with her. But I can only go for a a maximum of 2 weeks. What is worse comes to worse and she doesn't get the VISA. I'm going to have to come back alone. Meanwhile, I will have spent thousands of dollars on the trip for flight and everything else. I can't decide what to do. Don't even have the interview date yet.

Do you think they will allow someone like my wife's mother or father to go in with her to the interview?

Hi all,

I just want to share my recent experience.

AVR told me yesterday that "..forms review.. Incomplete or missing...mail sent on 12/2". I talked to the NVC operator this morning and shocked to find that NVC system indicates the petitioner does not want to receive email from NVC because an email was not deliverable. It looks like NVC can type email address incorrectly when sending email although NVC has correct email address in the system. So lesson learned: if either the petitioner or the beneficiary receives email from NVC, call NVC to check if NVC system is still set up to send email to the agent.

I called NVC in the afternoon again. The missing document is DS230 stuff, which has not been entered in the computer. AOS seems reviewed.

We also sent expedite request this Tuesday. The request was forwarded to embassy for approval on 12/2. If embassy says the case has ground to be expedited, NVC will send the package to embassy. It seems I need to follow up with NVC next week for DS230 status and expedite request. The operator also told me that it takes 2 to 3 weeks for documents to be entered into computer.

Do you have any agency like VFS in Bangladesh who co-cordinates with the Consulate regarding visa matters? If yes, you can talk to them too.

In India, last time (2008), my MIL entered inside the consulate with my wife for her interview. VFS provided coupons to get into the lounge with a low fee.

This time, we didn't try that option.

I just emailed to the Consulate if I can attend the interview with her this time. They said NO. I think that's their standard message like NVC's "6 to 8 weeks"

In fact it was VFS Lounge which was adjacent to the Consulate. It is not really the Consulate access.

No. There's no VFS like thing in Bangladesh. At least not that I know of.

Sorry no ones allows except US citizen/GC holder for information desk service. I believe, if you go to interview with your wife, you get more grill than your wife. Its better to send her alone, Probably will ask less question.

VFS only providing UK, CANADA & AUSTRALIA VISA PROCESSING. VFS ALSO DOES SOME WORK FOR NON IMMIGRANT VISA FOR US CONSULATE. (LIKE RECEIVE APPLICATION, FEES BUT NOT PASSPORT DELIVERY).

I agree with you on this. Though it is good to show the bona-fide relationship between the U.S citizen and the beneficiary by going together to the Consulate, it has side effects too.

Since USC is right there, CO can verify the answers replied by the beneficiary to the USC as well. If the answers do not match, it will be in limbo state. Proving bona-fide will negate in these cases. Well preparation between both the beneficiary and the petitioner for all the questions is the key here.

UPDATE:

I JUST SPOKE WITH JOHN(OPERATOR), HE CONFIRMED ME THAT MY AOS HAS BEEN REVIEWED & ACCEPTED. ALSO IV PACKAGED HAS BEEN IN THE SYSTEM ON DEC 01, 2010. BUT I AM ASSUIMING THAT MY PHOTOGRAPHS ALSO ATTACHED TO IT IN SAME DAY. MAN, ATLEAST THEY DIDN'T LOST ANY DOCUMENTS YET..HOPEFULLY NO RFE..
